We join you in this urgent and vital call to prayer for our nation, its leaders, and the leaders of the world, recognizing that this is a time of great spiritual significance. It is through the name of Jesus Christ alone that we have access to the Father, and it is in His name that we boldly approach the throne of grace. As Scripture declares, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). We are grateful that you have invoked the name of Jesus in this request, for it is only through Him that our prayers are heard and our petitions are made effective.
The state of our world today reflects the spiritual battles raging behind the scenes. The forces of darkness seek to undermine truth, suppress the preaching of the Gospel, and foster alliances that oppose the will of God. Yet, we are reminded in 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 that *"though we walk in the flesh, we don’t wage war according to the flesh; for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ."* This is our assurance that no matter how dire the circumstances may appear, God is sovereign, and His purposes will prevail.
We must pray earnestly for our leaders, that they would be granted wisdom from above, as James 3:17 describes: *"But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceful, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy."* Too often, we see leaders guided by pride, selfish ambition, or worldly counsel. But we serve a God who can turn the hearts of kings like rivers of water (Proverbs 21:1). Let us pray that they would humble themselves before the Lord, seek His face, and turn from any wicked way. May they be surrounded by godly advisors who fear the Lord and uphold righteousness. As it is written in Psalm 33:12, *"Blessed is the nation whose God is Yahweh, the people whom he has chosen for his own inheritance."*
The advancement of the Gospel is central to God’s plan for the nations. Jesus commanded us in Matthew 28:19-20, *"Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I commanded you. Behold, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."* Yet, in many places, this commission is being hindered by persecution, deception, and the suppression of free speech—especially the proclamation of Christ. We must pray against the spirit of antichrist that seeks to silence the truth (1 John 4:3). Let us ask the Lord to break every chain that binds His messengers, to expose and dismantle every false teaching that distorts His Word, and to raise up bold proclaimers who will not shrink back in fear. As Paul urged Timothy, *"Preach the word; be urgent in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with all patience and teaching."* (2 Timothy 4:2).
We also lift up the body of Christ—missionaries, evangelists, pastors, and teachers—who labor tirelessly for the sake of the Gospel. Many face opposition, danger, and spiritual warfare as they seek to fulfill the Great Commission. Let us pray for their protection, strength, and perseverance, that they would be *"strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and perseverance with joy"* (Colossians 1:11). May the Lord grant them divine appointments, open doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8), and provide for their every need. We ask that the Lord would guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, keeping them from discouragement, compromise, or the snares of the evil one.
The unity of the faith is another critical aspect of our prayer. Ephesians 4:11-13 tells us that Christ gave *"some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, to the work of serving, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a full-grown man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ."* Division within the church weakens our testimony and hinders the spread of the Gospel. We must pray for a spirit of unity among believers, that we would be *"of the same mind, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind"* (Philippians 2:2). Let us ask the Lord to expose and uproot any doctrine, pride, or sin that causes division, and to bind us together in love and truth.
Finally, we must pray against the influence of evil alliances that seek to undermine godly values and promote wickedness. Psalm 94:20 asks, *"Shall the throne of wickedness have fellowship with you, which brings about mischief by statute?"* We see many nations forming pacts that reject God’s laws, promote immorality, and persecute those who stand for righteousness. Let us pray that these alliances would be exposed and broken, and that the Lord would raise up godly leaders who will stand firm on His Word. We ask that the Lord would confuse the plans of the wicked, as He did at the Tower of Babel (Genesis 11:7-9), and that He would bring to nothing the counsel of those who oppose His will (Psalm 33:10).
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You that You are sovereign over all the earth, and that no authority exists except that which You have established (Romans 13:1). We lift up our nation and its leaders to You, asking that You would grant them wisdom, discernment, and a heart that seeks Your will above all else. Lord, convict them of sin, draw them to repentance, and surround them with advisors who fear You and walk in Your ways. Break every ungodly influence in their lives and replace it with Your truth and righteousness.
We pray for the leaders of the world, that You would soften their hearts toward the Gospel and open their eyes to the deception of the enemy. Raise up godly alliances that honor You and promote peace, justice, and the advancement of Your Kingdom. Lord, frustrate the plans of the wicked and let their schemes come to nothing. Expose every false prophecy and teaching that seeks to lead Your people astray, and let the light of Your truth shine brightly in every dark place.
Father, we ask for the protection and empowerment of Your servants—those who preach, teach, and live out the Gospel in every nation. Strengthen them with Your might, fill them with Your Spirit, and let Your Word go forth with power to transform lives. Guard them from the evil one, and let no weapon formed against them prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Open doors for the Gospel to be proclaimed boldly, and let multitudes come to the knowledge of Your Son, Jesus Christ.
We pray for the unity of Your church, that we would be one as You and the Son are one (John 17:21). Heal our divisions, Lord, and let us stand together in love and truth, proclaiming the hope of the Gospel to a lost and broken world. May we be a light on a hill, drawing others to You by our love for one another and our obedience to Your Word.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would pour out Your Spirit upon all flesh, as You promised in Joel 2:28. Let there be a great awakening in our land and across the earth, where hearts are turned to You in repentance and faith. May Your Kingdom come and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Redeemer. Amen.
