Propelled! (Jun 9th)

Sent off on their new assignment by the Holy Spirit, Barnabas and Saul went down to Seleucia and caught a ship for Cyprus.

Acts 13:4 msg

Thought

We can be run off. We can be sent out. But the real yearning on most of our hearts is to be propelled into the next phase of our life by God's will and the Holy Spirit's power. We don't want to strike out on our own, but we want to journey in the strength and power of the Lord. We want to be secure that we are led by the Spirit. Why? Because we know tough times will come! Living in the middle of the Lord's will is not easy — just ask Jesus or any of his apostles! Yet there is something divinely intoxicating living squarely in the middle of the Lord's will, propelled by the Holy Spirit to face the opportunities and challenges that are ahead. We want our life assignments and the power to accomplish them to come from the Holy Spirit of Almighty God!

Prayer

O Father, I long to live centered in your will and living out your mission. Please lead me and guide me to know that will and live it out as the mission of my life. I recognize that this may be living for you in the everyday challenges of my life, my school, my work, my family, and my job. I also realize that you may be calling me to something else. But I ask, dear Father, that you purify me and propel me to live out your mission through the power of your Holy Spirit. In Jesus' name I ask this. Amen.
