Pro wrestling

We are lifting you up together before the Lord as you prepare for this last man standing wrestling match and we are grateful you shared this request with us.

We want to encourage you to see this opportunity through the lens of honoring God with the strength and ability He has given you. Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God 1 Corinthians 10:31 and Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23. Your body is a gift from God and we are reminded Don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. We pray you will steward your body well in training, compete with discipline and self control, and show respect and sportsmanship to your opponent and to all involved.

We also want to gently encourage you about something we noticed, your request did not mention the name of Jesus. We want to remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that our prayers are heard. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Timothy 2:5. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name in all you do.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this one to You as he prepares for this demanding match. We ask for Your hand of protection over him and over his opponent, that You would guard them from serious injury and keep them from lasting harm. We pray You would grant him wisdom in preparation, clarity of mind, and self control in competition, that he would not be driven by pride or anger or the desire to harm, but by a desire to do his best with integrity. Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than themselves Philippians 2:3. Help him to remember that his worth is not in whether he is the last man standing, but in being Your child. We pray For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7 and we ask that he would compete with courage and peace, trusting in You rather than in his own strength. May his conduct and his words be a witness to others of Your grace. If it is Your will, grant him safety and a good outcome, and above all let this be for Your glory. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to commit the outcome to the Lord, to win or lose with humility and thanksgiving, and to use any platform you are given to point others to Christ. We are praying that God will keep you safe, give you peace as you step into the ring, and help you to glorify Him in your effort and your character.

We're holding you in prayer as you prepare for this last man standing match. That kind of bout takes a lot out of you physically and mentally, so it makes sense you'd want prayer covering it.

What stands out to us is the discipline you've already put in to get here. Lasting growth, whether in sport or in faith, comes more from steady training over time than from just pushing hard in the moment. Keeping that long view can help you stay grounded whether the crowd is loud or the pressure builds.

A practical step that may help in these final days is to do a clear safety check with people you trust. Talk through your preparation and recovery plan with your coach or trainer, make sure you have proper medical clearance and rest, and let a couple of steady people in your church or family know how you're doing so you aren't carrying the stress alone. Having that support around you matters when the intensity rises.

We appreciate your desire to honor the Lord even in a competitive setting, and we are asking Him to give you wisdom, protection and peace as you step in.

Father, we lift this brother to You and ask for Your hand over his body and mind in the days ahead. Give him clear judgment, good rest and safety, and help him walk closely with You whatever the outcome. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You have brought before the Lord your preparation for this last man standing contest, and we will bear you up in prayer as you look toward it.

We are reminded that all strength of every sort comes from God. Since He is the Author of all being, it is He who gives strength to every form of existence. Physical strength is very desirable, and what a blessing it is to be hale and strong and vigorous, yet human strength in any form will spend itself in due time. Though a man had the strength of a lion and an ox combined, he would one day fail, for all strength apart from God is derived strength and is consequently measurable. The glory of a man's physical strength, whether he knows it or not, belongs to God, and He ought to have the service of the strength which He Himself has created. To be strengthened with strength in the Lord is of all things the most desirable.

Therefore we would point you to that higher and nobler strength. The Scripture saith, They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, Isaiah 40:31. And again, As thy days, so shall thy strength be, Deuteronomy 33:25. You will not find this renewal in your own resolve, but in secret communion with God who gives power to the faint and to them that have no might increases strength. Wait upon Him, not only for sinew and breath for the hour of trial, but for the joy of the Lord which is your strength, Nehemiah 8:10, that quiet inward joy which makes a man to abide steady and to do all things for the glory of God rather than for the praise of men. Let the glory of your strength lie in God alone, and not in creature strength or creature glory, which shall be brought low, but in the Cross of Christ which is the main strength of the Gospel.

We will pray also for your safety. You need an infinite Friend to keep you in safety against all adversaries, for it is written, Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, Jude 1:24. Whether in the ring or out of it, your safety lies in your Saviour, who is as wise as He is able to keep you. Seek to walk in the way of principle and consecrated service, for he who travels on the King's highway is under the King's protection. Use the vigor lent to you with temperance and with care for your fellow contestants, not seeking to do harm beyond the bounds of the sport, but showing a spirit of honor and self control that adorns the Gospel.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, Thou art the glory of our strength, Psalm 89:17, and from Thee cometh every good gift of body and mind. We ask Thee to look upon this Thy servant who prepares for this contest. Grant renewed strength as his days require, keep his body from grievous harm and his heart from pride and vainglory. Let him remember that his breath is in Thy hand, and help him to ascribe all that he is and has to Thy grace. Keep him from falling, and present him faultless before the presence of Thy glory with exceeding joy through Jesus Christ our Saviour. Above all, strengthen him with might by Thy Spirit in the inner man, that whether he stands or is counted down in this match, he may stand fast in the Lord and be found faithful. In the name of Jesus Christ we ask it, Amen.

You have asked for prayer as you prepare for a last man standing match, and I have brought your request before the Lord.

Scripture often speaks of wrestling and contests, and it reminds us that a crowd gathers to watch the skill and strength of an athlete, straining to see everything he does. In the same way, many eyes will be on you in that ring. Remember also that no champion is ready for the contest without long training. As those who prepare for the games fill a sack with sand and practice daily, and the younger ones train with their companions, so you have been given time to prepare your body with discipline and care.

I pray that God will keep you safe and guard both you and your opponent from serious harm, that He will grant you clear judgment, endurance, and true courage. There is a difference between courage and mere audacity. Courage speaks and acts with self control and respect, while audacity is an unbridled tongue and insolence toward others. Whether in victory or in defeat, compete with honor, without pride or contempt, and let your conduct show the meekness and gentleness of Christ. He is meek and gentle, and His strength is made perfect even when we are weak.

May the Lord give you strength for the contest, wisdom to know your limits, humility to accept the outcome, and grace to use the gifts He has given you without boasting. Above the crown that fades in any arena, remember the promise of an eternal inheritance that comes through Jesus Christ, who died and rose to secure it for those who trust in Him. Stand firm in Him first, and let that be the ground on which you stand in every other contest.

I pray that you will enter and leave this match with a good conscience, that your body will be preserved, and that through your discipline and character Christ will be honored.

TIRED GOD, I'm so tired of wrestling with my thoughts of not wanting to live. GOD, I'm tired of fighting to live and trying to do what's right. GOD, I'm tired of hurting and being hurt. GOD, here I am, show me your face. GOD, my faith has dwindled.
