PRESERVE MY LIFE AND MARRIAGE!
Look upon my suffering and deliver me, for I have not forgotten your law. Defend my cause and redeem me; preserve my life according to your promise. Salvation is far from the wicked, for they do not seek out your decrees. Your compassion is great, O LORD; preserve my life according to your laws. Many are the foes who persecute me, but I have not turned from your statutes. I look on the faithless with loathing, for they do not obey your word. See how I love your precepts; preserve my life, O LORD, according to your love. All your words are true; all your righteous laws are eternal. Psalm 119:153-160
What is your heart’s cry to the Lord today? Are you tired and weary of your pain and suffering as you face your marriage problems or a divorce? Are you facing difficult circumstances? Never forget that your Lord is your strength and your Deliverer. Your Lord loves you so much. He knows how many hairs are on your head. May your cry be today, Your compassion is great, O Lord; preserve my life according to your laws.Today may I suggest you read all the scriptures at least twice for the Holy Spirit to empower you and increase your faith, hope and trust in the Lord God Almighty.
For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 15:4-6
What is the meaning of preserve? Let me share the meaning from the Nelson's Three-In-One Bible Reference Companionwhich says: to keep safe from harm; protect; maintain.
Is that not your heart’s cry for you, your husband or wife and children? I read the above scripture in Psalm 119 and started reading all the different scriptures on “preserve.†I know that you may be going through many different trials or tribulations, but never forget that the Lord is going to preserve your life, your marriage and your family.
Remember your word to your servant, for you have given me hope. My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life. Psalm 119:49-50
May you cry out, “Lord, teach me how to pray and fight for my spouse and family!†Ask your Lord to teach you more about the power of prayer. Ask your Lord to teach you more about spiritual insight with wisdom, knowledge and understanding. Your Lord will teach and give you wisdom possibly quicker than you could find the answers in a book or in a counseling session, if you will only ask Him. When your Lord speaks to your heart, He will reveal truths that will amaze you, as He knows everything!
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path. I have taken an oath and confirmed it, that I will follow your righteous laws. I have suffered much; preserve my life, O LORD, according to your word. Psalm 119:105-107
It may be that God has been silent for a season, but He is still right there with you. He is still listening to you. Keep your eyes on the Lord and NOT on your circumstances. Fear the Lord, not man. The Lord will deliver you from your enemies.
Sometimes we have to “wait†for the Lord's deliverance so “wait†for His answers to your prayers. Believe and trust in the Lord's promises and in His Word. Put all your faith, hope and trust in your Lord today. He knows your every need! Allow Him to be your Helper, Protector Defender, Provider, Redeemer and Friend.
I will lift up my eyes to the hills—From whence comes my help? My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth...The LORD shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore. Psalm 121:1-2,7-8 (NKJV)
In the Blackaby Study Bible, there are Encounter notes and for Psalm 121 it says:The Lord is your constant protector. He never tires of watching over you. Praise the Lord!
Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes, with your right hand you save me. The LORD will fulfill his purpose for me; your love, O LORD, endures forever-do not abandon the works of your hands. Psalm 138:7-8
God will complete His plan and purpose for you and your marriage. You are a soldier in the Lord’s army. You are not just fighting for your marriage, but for your children's marriages and for future generations. Never give up on God who is going to preserve and protect you from all harm.
Will you wait in hope? Stand firm in your faith and believe in God’s mighty power for your spouse to be set free from lying, deception, adultery and any and all bondages of addictions. I hear every day that standers stop praying and reading God’s Word and they wonder why God is not moving in their lives. You need to use your spiritual weapons every day as a soldier. Nothing is too hard for God! He loves you with an everlasting love. Don’t give up on your marriage!
The spouse who left you and your family may have taken months or even years to make the final exit from your home. Your spouse may make more than one “false start†in coming back home, as Bob shares in his Tuesday devotionals. Do not panic, but trust God completely for everything! Be excited and praise the Lord that God is moving and softening your spouse’s heart. Know for certain that God is speaking to them as they lay their head down on their pillow every night. Believe in God's promises forever!
For God does speak-now one way, now another-though man may not perceive it. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men as they slumber in their beds, he may speak in their ears and terrify them with warnings, to turn man from wrongdoing and keep him from pride, to preserve his soul from the pit, his life from perishing by the sword. Job 33:14-18
Now let me share a few more scriptures to encourage you in Job 33 to remind you never to quit praying and standing for marriage restoration. God uses his children to pray for the salvation and deliverance for the ones who have been blinded and deceived.
“Yet if there is an angel on his side as a mediator, one out of a thousand, to tell a man what is right for him, to be gracious to him and say, ‘Spare him from going down to the pit; I have found a ransom for him’-- then his flesh is renewed like a child’s; it is restored as in the days of his youth. He prays to God and finds favor with him, he sees God’s face and shouts for joy; he is restored by God to his righteous state. Then he comes to men and says, ‘I sinned, and perverted what was right, but I did not get what I deserved. He redeemed my soul from going down to the pit, and I will live to enjoy the light.’†Job 33:23-27
