Pregnancy scare

Kraurmir

Disciple of Prayer
I would like for some people to help pray for me and my ###. We have sinned and are scared that she might be pregnant. Please pray for us for we are not ready for a child, and are undeserving of one at this time.

We hear your cry for help and lift you both up before the throne of grace with heavy hearts. What you have described is indeed a serious matter, for the Bible makes it clear that sexual intimacy is a gift from God reserved solely for the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. "Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge" (Hebrews 13:4 WEB). The fear and anxiety you are experiencing now are consequences of stepping outside God’s perfect design, and we must address this sin with repentance and humility before the Lord.

First, we must acknowledge that all sin separates us from God, but the blood of Jesus Christ is sufficient to cleanse us from all unrighteousness if we confess and turn away from it. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9 WEB). We urge you both to fall on your knees before the Lord, ask for His forgiveness, and commit to walking in purity from this moment forward. This means no longer engaging in sexual relations outside of marriage and, if you are not already, pursuing a godly courtship with the intent of marriage if the Lord leads you together.

We also want to gently but firmly remind you that God is the author of life, and every child is a blessing from Him. "Behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh. The fruit of the womb is his reward" (Psalm 127:3 WEB). While your fear is understandable, we must not allow fear to dictate our response to this situation. Instead, we must trust in God’s sovereignty and His ability to provide for every need. If a child has been conceived, this is not a mistake but an opportunity for God to work in your lives in ways you cannot yet imagine. We pray that you would have the courage to embrace His will, whatever it may be, and that He would give you the strength to parent this child in a way that honors Him, should that be His plan.

We also want to address the reality that your current relationship is not aligned with God’s design. If you are not married, we strongly encourage you to seek godly counsel from your pastor or a mature Christian couple who can help you navigate this season with wisdom and accountability. Marriage is a sacred covenant, and if the Lord has joined you together, it is far better to honor Him by entering into that covenant than to continue in sin. "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled" (Hebrews 13:4 WEB). If you are not prepared to commit to marriage, then you must commit to purity and separate yourselves physically until you are.

Now, let us come before the Lord together in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with broken hearts, knowing that we have sinned against You and strayed from Your perfect plan. Lord, we ask for Your forgiveness for the sin of fornication, and we repent of this disobedience. Cleanse us, O God, with the precious blood of Your Son, Jesus Christ, and renew a right spirit within us. Father, we lift up this couple to You, asking that You would grant them clarity in this moment. If a child has been conceived, we pray that You would make that known to them quickly, and that You would prepare their hearts to receive this life as Your gift. Give them the strength, wisdom, and faith to trust in You, knowing that You are their Provider and Sustainer.

Lord, we ask that You would draw them closer to You through this trial. Help them to seek Your face, to surrender their fears and desires to You, and to walk in obedience to Your Word. If they are not married, we pray that You would guide them toward purity and, if it is Your will, toward the covenant of marriage. Surround them with godly counsel and accountability, and help them to honor You in all their ways.

Father, we also pray for the life that may be growing within her. If this child exists, we ask that You would protect and sustain them, and that You would use this situation for Your glory. Soften their hearts to receive this child as a blessing, and give them the courage to choose life, no matter the cost. Provide for every need—emotionally, spiritually, and physically—and let them experience Your grace in abundance.

Above all, Lord, we pray that You would be glorified in this situation. May Your name be lifted high, and may Your will be done. We ask all of this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.

In the days ahead, we encourage you to immerse yourselves in God’s Word and seek His face daily. Spend time in prayer, not just asking for what you want, but listening for His voice and surrendering to His will. Remember that "the fear of man brings a snare, but whoever puts his trust in Yahweh is kept safe" (Proverbs 29:25 WEB). Do not let fear drive your decisions, but let faith in God’s goodness and sovereignty guide you.

If you do not yet know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, we urge you to consider the gravity of this moment. The Bible tells us that "there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" (Acts 4:12 WEB). Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay the penalty for your sins, and He rose again so that you could have eternal life. If you have never surrendered your life to Him, now is the time. Confess your sins, believe in Him, and commit to following Him with your whole heart. He is faithful to forgive and to give you a new life.

Finally, we want to leave you with this promise: "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB). God has not abandoned you, even in this difficult moment. He is with you, and He is able to redeem this situation for His glory. Trust in Him, lean on Him, and walk in obedience to His Word. He will never leave you nor forsake you.

We're here for you both, holding you up in prayer. We understand the gravity of your situation and the fear you're feeling. We want you to know that God is a God of second chances, and He's ready to meet you both where you are. Let's turn to Him together.

First, let's confess our sins before Him. "Father, we've sinned. We've stepped outside Your perfect plan for us. We're sorry, Lord. Please forgive us and cleanse us with the blood of Jesus." Now, let's ask Him to fill us with His Spirit and guide us in this journey.

Next, let's trust in His sovereignty. If a child has been conceived, it's not a mistake, but a life He's chosen to bless you with. It might not be the timing you expected, but God's timing is always perfect. Let's pray for clarity and wisdom to embrace His will, whatever it may be.

We also want to encourage you to seek godly counsel. If marriage isn't an option right now, commit to purity and separate yourselves physically until you're ready. Remember, God honors purity and faithfulness.

Now, let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we come to You with humble hearts. We've sinned, but we know Your love is greater than our failures. Please forgive us and cleanse us. Give us clarity, Lord. If a child has been conceived, reveal it to us and help us receive this life as Your gift. Give us the strength to trust in You, knowing You're our Provider and Sustainer. Help us to honor You in all our ways, Lord. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Let's keep talking to God, listening to His voice, and trusting in His goodness. He's with us, and He's not going to abandon us. Let's lean on Him and walk in obedience to His Word.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
