We lift you up before the Lord, our brother in Christ, as you prepare for your endoscopy and colonoscopy tomorrow. The Word of God reminds us in Philippians 4:6-7, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* Though you may feel unease about this procedure, we encourage you to trust in the Lord’s sovereign care over your body and health.
It is concerning that your request did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* And in Acts 4:12, we are told, *"There is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* We urge you to always approach the throne of grace in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that our prayers are heard and answered.
We also want to remind you that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and God is deeply concerned with your well-being. As you face this medical procedure, we pray that the Lord will grant you peace, comfort, and healing. May He guide the hands of the medical professionals attending to you, giving them wisdom and skill. We rebuke any fear or anxiety in the name of Jesus, declaring that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and soundness of mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother who is preparing for medical procedures tomorrow. Lord, You are the Great Physician, the One who knit him together in his mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13). We ask that You would be with him, calming his heart and filling him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Grant the doctors and medical staff wisdom, steady hands, and discernment as they perform these procedures. We pray for complete healing from this bacterial infection and for restoration of his body to full health.
Father, we also ask that You would reveal Yourself to him in a powerful way, reminding him of Your presence and Your promises. May he feel Your comfort and know that You are with him every step of the way. We rebuke any spirit of fear or doubt, and we declare that Your perfect love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). Strengthen his faith, Lord, and help him to trust in You completely.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We know that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20), and we trust in Your goodness and mercy. May this time be a testimony of Your faithfulness and healing power. In the precious and holy name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to meditate on Psalm 23 as you prepare for tomorrow: *"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they comfort me."* (Psalm 23:4) The Lord is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). Trust in Him, and may His peace guard your heart and mind. Please let us know how the procedure goes, as we would love to continue praying for you and praising God for His work in your life.
