Praying of return of stolen handphone

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I was on a bus happily to a mall. I suddenly saw the stop that I was supposed to alight. While I quickly tap the transport card to alight, my handphone was stolen from my bag on my left shoulder. I realize that my phone was missing once I alight the stop! As I thought that I drop my phone, I get on the bus to the terminal to try to locate my phone. However, it was not found and the locals said that another boy had also report his phone stolen. The phone contains thousands of photos and memories. I blame myself for not backing up the data. Although I have remotely lock the phone and left a message for the thief to return it, it remained offline. I pray that the thief will on the phone, see my message and return my phone as I offered a reward for the return of my handphone. I do not understand why God allowed this to happen.

We understand the deep frustration and sorrow you must feel over the loss of your handphone, especially with the precious memories stored within it. It is natural to feel upset and even question why such things happen, but let us remind you that God’s ways are higher than ours, and He often allows trials to refine our faith and draw us closer to Him. While we do not always understand His purposes, we can trust that He is sovereign and works all things together for good for those who love Him (Romans 8:28).

The thief who took your phone has acted wickedly, and we pray that God would convict their heart to repent and return what was stolen. The Bible clearly states that stealing is a sin, and those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God (Ephesians 4:28, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10). Yet, we also know that God is merciful and can turn even the hardest heart toward repentance. Let us pray that this person will see your message, feel the weight of their actions, and choose to do what is right by returning your phone.

We also encourage you to release any bitterness or blame you may feel—whether toward yourself or others. While it is wise to take precautions in the future, dwelling on regret will only steal your peace. Instead, let this be a reminder to trust God more fully, knowing that He is your provider and protector. He sees your pain and cares deeply for you (1 Peter 5:7).

Most importantly, we must address that your prayer request did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name by which we can approach the Father, and it is only through Jesus that we have access to God’s throne of grace (John 14:6, Hebrews 4:16). Salvation and answered prayer come through faith in Christ alone. If you have not yet placed your trust in Him, we urge you to do so today—confessing your sins, believing in His death and resurrection, and surrendering your life to Him.

Let us pray together for your situation:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is grieving the loss of their handphone and the memories it held. Lord, we ask that You would touch the heart of the thief who took it. Convict them by Your Holy Spirit to repent of their sin and return what was stolen. Soften their heart, Lord, and let them see the error of their ways. May they turn to You in true repentance and find forgiveness through Jesus Christ.

Father, we also ask for Your comfort and peace to fill our brother/sister’s heart. Help them to release any anger, blame, or regret, and instead, trust in Your sovereign plan. Remind them that You are their provider and that no loss is beyond Your ability to restore or redeem. If it is Your will, Lord, let this phone be returned safely, with all its data intact. But even if it is not, we pray that You would restore what the enemy has stolen—whether through recovered memories, new blessings, or a deeper trust in You.

We rebuked the enemy’s work in this situation, declaring that no weapon formed against Your children shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Let this trial be turned for good, drawing our brother/sister closer to You and strengthening their faith.

Finally, Lord, we pray that if our brother/sister does not yet know You as their Savior, that today would be the day they turn to Jesus Christ in faith. May they understand that salvation is found in no other name, and that through Him alone, they can have eternal life and access to Your throne.

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your goodness and Your perfect timing. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We're right there with you, friend. It's frustrating and painful to lose something so valuable, especially when it holds irreplaceable memories. But remember, God is near, and He cares about every detail of your life. Let's trust that He's working even in this situation.

We've been praying for your phone's return, and we'll keep doing so. We're asking God to touch the thief's heart, to convict them and lead them to repentance and return what they've taken. We're also praying for peace and comfort for you, that you'd release any bitterness and trust God with the outcome.

Let's also remember that God is our provider, and no loss is too great for Him. If it's His will, He can restore your phone and all its data. But even if He doesn't, we trust that He's working for your good and His glory.

And hey, let's not forget to back up our data from now on, right? 😉

Keep your chin up, friend. We're in this together, and we're trusting God every step of the way. Let's keep praying and watching for God's goodness.

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God Loves You. Thank You Jesus!!!

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for allowing us the honor of lifting your situation before the Lord these past few days. It has been our privilege to stand with you in prayer, asking God to work in the heart of the one who took your phone and to restore what was lost to you. We know how deeply personal those photos and memories are, and we have prayed not only for the return of your phone but also for God’s comfort to surround you in this frustrating and painful time.

We understand how easy it is to question why things like this happen, especially when we feel we’ve been careful or when the loss feels so unnecessary. But we want to encourage you to keep trusting that God sees what we cannot—He is not distant in this, even when it feels that way. His ways are higher than ours, and though we may not always understand His purposes, we can rest in His goodness and sovereignty.

If the Lord has answered this prayer and your phone has been returned, we would love for you to share a praise report with us so we can rejoice together in His faithfulness. If you are still waiting, please know we are not done praying with you. You are welcome to post an update or a new request so we can continue to seek God on your behalf, asking Him to soften the thief’s heart, to provide a way for your phone to be recovered, and to fill the gaps of what feels lost with His peace and provision.

In the meantime, we pray that God will remind you of His presence in this season. May He replace your frustration with hope, your confusion with trust, and your sense of loss with the assurance that He holds all things—even this—in His hands. We are asking Him to restore to you not just the phone, but also the joy and security that come from knowing He is with you, no matter what.

We are here with you, standing in faith that God is at work, even when we cannot yet see the outcome. Keep seeking Him, and may He bless you with His unfailing love and strength as you wait on Him in Jesus’ name.

Hi! My phone is still not returned yet. I know chances are slim that it will be returned. The lingering depression is settling in, and I can't seem to stop thinking about it. I still remain hopeful, that it would be returned. Dear Jesus, I pray if you can, please help me.
