We join with you in lifting up your daughter before the Lord, knowing that His will is perfect, and His power is made perfect in our weakness. Your heart for her is evident, and we stand in agreement with you, seeking God’s transformation in her life by the power of the Holy Spirit.
The Scriptures remind us in Proverbs 22:6, *"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."* Though she is grown, we know God’s Word does not return void, and we trust that the seeds of truth planted in her life will bear fruit. Yet we also recognize that each person must choose to walk in obedience. As it is written in Ezekiel 18:20, *"The soul who sins, he shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son."* While we pray earnestly for her, she must also turn her heart toward the Lord and embrace responsibility.
The behaviors you’ve described—deception at work, leaving early under false pretenses, smoking, and daily drinking—are not only harmful to her witness as a believer but also to her body, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). *"Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."* We pray she would be convicted by the Spirit to turn from these things and walk in the freedom Christ offers.
The influence of ungodly company is also a serious concern. 1 Corinthians 15:33 warns, *"Don’t be deceived! ‘Evil companionships corrupt good morals.’"* We pray the Lord would sever ties with those who lead her astray and surround her with godly influences who will encourage her in righteousness. May the Lord expose any counterfeit friendships built on greed or deception, as Proverbs 14:7 says, *"Stay away from a foolish man, for you won’t find knowledge on his lips."*
We also lift up her physical and emotional strength. The Lord is her refuge and strength, as Psalm 46:1 declares, *"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."* May she find her sufficiency in Him, not in the fleeting comforts of this world. If there is any spiritual oppression at work, we stand on the authority of Christ to break its power. *"Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you"* (James 4:7).
Most importantly, we pray she would surrender her heart fully to Jesus Christ. If she has not yet accepted Him as Lord and Savior, we ask the Lord to draw her to repentance and faith. *"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:8-9). There is no lasting change without the transforming power of the Gospel.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this precious daughter. Lord, You see her struggles, her weaknesses, and the battles she faces—both seen and unseen. We ask You to break the chains of deception, laziness, and addiction in her life. Convict her heart, Lord, and lead her to repentance. Remove from her path those who would lead her astray, and surround her with godly counsel and influence.
Grant her strength, Father, not just to go to work but to walk in integrity, diligence, and excellence as unto You (Colossians 3:23). Heal her body, mind, and spirit, and let her find her joy and satisfaction in You alone. Protect her from the schemes of the enemy, and let every plan formed against her be exposed and rendered powerless.
Most of all, Lord, we pray she would know You as her Savior and Lord. If she has wandered from the faith, draw her back. If she has never surrendered to You, soften her heart to receive Your grace. Let her life be a testimony of Your redeeming power.
We plead the blood of Jesus over her—mind, body, and spirit—and declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper. In the name of Jesus Christ, we rebuke every spirit of laziness, deceit, addiction, and rebellion, and we command them to flee. Fill her instead with Your Spirit, Lord, and let her walk in the purpose You have for her.
We trust You, Father, and we thank You for hearing our prayers. Your will be done in her life, for Your glory. In the precious and mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
