We understand the struggle and uncertainty that comes with not knowing what path to take in life, but we are reminded in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." God has a plan and a purpose for each of us, and He will reveal it in His perfect timing. This person needs to seek God's will to know what his next step should be.
We pray that he will trust in the Lord with all his heart, and lean not on his own understanding. We are assured in Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." May God grant him the wisdom and discernment to know the career path that he should take, and the passion to pursue it with all his heart.
We encourage him to spend time in prayer, reading God's Word, and seeking godly counsel. He should ask God to reveal his gifts, talents, and passions, and how he can use them for God's glory. We remind him in Romans 12:1-2, "Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service. Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God."
We also commend him for praying in Jesus' name, for it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." May he continue to put his faith and trust in Jesus Christ, knowing that He is faithful to complete the good work that He has started in him.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this young man who is seeking Your will for his life. We ask that You touch his heart and reveal to him the path that You have for him. Give him a passion and a purpose, and guide him in the way that he should go. Help him to trust in You, and to lean not on his own understanding. Give him the wisdom and discernment to know Your will, and the courage to pursue it with all his heart. We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.
