ALL the works and plans of the devil have already been destroyed, by Jesus. Every work, every plan, all disease and sickness, all our infirmities, all our unrest, all our poverty, all pain, anything which is a work of the devil has already been defeated by Jesus. We are not fighting to gain a victory over the works of the devil at this time because Jesus has already done that. We are fighting from a place of victory and wanting to see that victory manifest in our lives. If we pray like we are trying to gain a victory over the devil and his works then we are praying in unbelief, because our faith should be based on what Jesus has already don, for us. We walk by faith, not by what we see.The only battle we are in now is with ourselves and the renewal of our minds. As a believer we no longer have a sin nature that draws us to sin. Instead we have the nature of God, but we have a sin habit which draws us to sin. That sin habit now is due to having an unrenewed mind.
Romans 12:2English Standard Version (ESV)2 Do not be conformed to this world,[a] but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
If we pray to "have victory" over our circumstances, then we are praying in unbelief and not believing what Jesus has already done, for us. The major portion of our prayers should be thanking and praising the Lord for His victory for us over all our circumstances. Praise the Lord, thank you Jesus.
