Praying For The Right One

It's been almost 4 years since my divorce after being married for a very long time. I have forgiven my ex-husband for walking away, and have never been bitter with him. I am ready to start my life over again with someone new, and have been praying the Lord will lead me in the right direction.It's important that he be born again and have a close relationship with the Lord. Would really appreciate all of your prauers. God Bless!

My mother Martha Raquel Cortez is in the hospital passing from liver cancer I ask that you please pray for my mother by name she asked that I pray that God take her so that she will not be in pain or suffer no longer she says she is ready and happy to go with him I ask that you pray to God and ask him to give her peace in her heart and peace of mind and to answer her prayer if it is what she wants she ask's of God to take her by the hand and to except her in his kingdom in heaven it is hard for me to except it but I feel it is Gods will and I cannot interfere I just want o be able to know tht my mother will go in peace with the lord

Dear Sweetcakes

Like the rest above, my sincere prayer too is that you will know and be in His perfect will for always. And He has already mapped out His perfect will which is in His word for us all who truly love and follow our Lord Jesus.

And for this subject on remarriage, the Lord foreknew already that there will always be an issue on this delicate subject taken at any circumstances. And yes, He has a reason for all these 'dos' and the 'donts' as they are there not to harm us but to protect us. Indeed, maturity welcomes a warning for warning is a good thing and not for bad.

11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. -Jeremiah 29

Once you have established this Jeremiah truth for your heart, I now pray that you will be able to receive these other hilight truths from His word too.

1 Corinthians 7

11. But should she separate, let her stay unmarried, or let her be reconciled to the husband. And, A husband is not to leave a wife.

39. A wife is bound for as long as her husband lives; but if the husband is dead, she is free to be married to whom she wants; only in the Lord.

But why?? Reason is found in Mark 10:11-12:

11 So He said to them, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery against her. 12 And if a woman divorces her husband and marries another, she commits adultery.â€

It applies to either party. I believe it is better to stay single or be reconciled back with your ex-husband provided that he is not remarried with other woman....(again, it applies to either party)

2 when she has departed from his house, and goes and becomes another man’s wife, 3 if the latter husband detests her and writes her a certificate of divorce, puts it in her hand, and sends her out of his house, or if the latter husband dies who took her as his wife, 4 then her former husband who divorced her must not take her back to be his wife after she has been defiled;

The best thing is to stay single and be enraptured with His love for He is your All and you true Joy. ANd that is where your defining moments are when you choose Him over your own happiness and security-that's the narrow road where many will try to sacrifice their own desires and dreams.

However, please be assured that He will never leave nor forsake you as He has promise His word to those who love Him truly.

24 Now to Him who is able to keep you, Sweetcakes, from stumbling,

I am glad to have you with us so that we can pray for each other, and that I thank you.

I hope that you understand that this site has its terms that we need to abide. And one of it is that we do not encourage anyone to remarry another person based on 1 Corinthians 7:10-16 plus verse 39 and Mark 10:11-12. You could slice the pie any how you want to, but again, biblical facts still stands, Gardener. And this is what Jesus meant about not taking His word lightly either:-

17 “Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets. I did not come to destroy but to fulfill. 18 For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. 19 Whoever therefore breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does and teaches them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven-Matthew 5
