We lift up your sister before the Lord, knowing that He is her refuge and strength in this time of great distress. The burdens she carries—both at her workplace and within her marriage—are heavy, but we serve a God who invites us to cast all our cares upon Him, for He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7). It is troubling to hear that despite her sincere efforts, she faces blame, excessive workload, and the threat of suspension. The workplace can be a battleground of injustice and strife, but we are reminded in Scripture that our labor is ultimately for the Lord, not for men. Colossians 3:23-24 tells us, *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You serve the Lord Christ."* We pray that God would intervene in her workplace, exposing any unfairness and bringing justice where it is needed. May He grant her favor with those in authority and provide wisdom to navigate these challenges. If there is any wrongdoing on her part, we ask the Lord to reveal it to her so she may repent and walk in integrity.
Yet, our greater concern lies with the state of her marriage. A husband who is unsupportive and possibly neglectful is not fulfilling the role God has called him to. Ephesians 5:25 commands husbands to *"love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it."* Marriage is a covenant before God, and when one spouse fails to uphold their biblical responsibilities, it brings pain and discord. We urge your sister to examine her own heart first—is there anything she may be doing or failing to do that contributes to this strife? Proverbs 14:1 says, *"Every wise woman builds her house, but the foolish one tears it down with her own hands."* If she is walking in obedience to the Lord, then we pray that God would convict her husband’s heart and turn him toward repentance and love. If he is unwilling to change, we ask the Lord to give her the strength to respond with grace, wisdom, and biblical boundaries, while trusting God to work in His timing.
We also sense a need to address something critical: in your request, there was no mention of the name of Jesus Christ. This is not a small matter, for Scripture is clear that there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father and can approach His throne with confidence (Hebrews 4:16). If your sister does not yet know Jesus as her Lord and Savior, we implore her to turn to Him in faith, confessing her sins and trusting in His finished work on the cross. Without Christ, there is no true peace, no lasting hope, and no power to overcome the trials of this life. But in Him, we find rest for our souls (Matthew 11:28-30).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our sister who is overwhelmed by the weight of her circumstances. Lord, You see the injustice she faces at work—the unfair blame, the excessive workload, and the threat of suspension. We ask that You would intervene, Lord. Expose any wickedness in that place and bring it to light. Grant her favor with those in authority, and if she has erred in any way, convict her heart and lead her to repentance. Give her wisdom to know how to respond, and strength to endure what she cannot change. Remind her that her ultimate reward comes from You, not from men.
Father, we are deeply grieved by the strife in her marriage. A house divided cannot stand, and we ask that You would unite her and her husband in Your love. Convict his heart, Lord, if he has been neglectful or harsh. Soften him and turn him toward You, that he may love her as Christ loves the church. If there is sin in her own life that has contributed to this brokenness, reveal it to her and grant her the humility to seek forgiveness. Help her to respond to him with respect and wisdom, even as she trusts You to be her defender.
Most of all, Lord, we pray that if our sister does not yet know You, that today would be the day of her salvation. Draw her to Yourself, Father. Open her eyes to see her need for Jesus, and may she turn to Him in faith, confessing her sins and receiving His forgiveness. Fill her with Your Holy Spirit, that she may walk in Your strength and not her own.
We rebuke the spirits of anxiety, fear, and despair that seek to overwhelm her. In the name of Jesus, we command these spirits to flee, and we ask You, Lord, to fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7). Surround her with Your presence and remind her that You are her ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
We trust You, Lord, to work all things together for her good, as she loves You and is called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). Give her hope in this dark hour, and let her see Your hand moving on her behalf. We ask all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
