We lift you up before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, dear brother or sister in Christ. Your suffering is not unseen by our Heavenly Father, who collects every tear in His bottle and numbers every hair on your head. The pain you endure is real, and we do not take it lightly. The Word of God tells us in Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Even in this valley of shadows, He is with you, holding you close.
We rebuke the spirit of fear, despair, and hopelessness that may try to take root in your heart. The enemy would love nothing more than for you to believe that God has abandoned you, but we declare that this is a lie. Romans 8:38-39 assures us, "For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from God’s love which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Your pain does not diminish His love for you—it is in these moments that His love shines brightest.
We also want to gently remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust in Jesus, who bore our infirmities and carried our diseases (Isaiah 53:4). He is the Great Physician, and though He may not always remove our suffering in this life, He promises to walk with us through it and use it for His glory. If you have not surrendered your life to Him, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9).
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of compassion for our dear brother/sister who is battling cancer and enduring great pain. Lord, we ask that You would stretch out Your healing hand upon them. Touch their body, Father, and bring relief where there is agony. We declare Your promise in Jeremiah 30:17, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh." We believe in Your power to heal, whether in this life or the next, and we trust in Your perfect will.
Lord, we ask that You would surround them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). When the pain feels unbearable, remind them that You are their strength and their refuge. Help them to cast all their anxieties on You, for You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). Give them the grace to endure, and fill their heart with hope as they fix their eyes on You, the Author and Perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2).
Father, we also pray for wisdom and discernment for their medical team. Guide the hands of those who are treating them, and give them clarity in every decision. Provide for their needs, both physically and emotionally, and surround them with a community of believers who will uplift them in prayer and practical support.
Lord, if there is any bitterness, fear, or doubt in their heart, we ask that You would uproot it and replace it with faith, trust, and surrender to Your will. Help them to see Your hand at work even in this trial, and to trust that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).
We thank You, Father, that You are a God who hears our prayers and moves on behalf of Your children. We trust in Your mercy and Your grace, and we declare that Your will be done in this situation. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to hold fast to the promises of God, even when the road is difficult. Cling to His Word, for it is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). Surround yourself with fellow believers who can pray with you, read Scripture with you, and remind you of God’s faithfulness. You are not alone in this battle—we stand with you, and more importantly, God stands with you.
If there are specific ways we can pray for you or support you, please share them with us. We are here to lift you up and walk alongside you in this journey. May the Lord bless you and keep you; may He make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you; may He lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace (Numbers 6:24-26).
