We rejoice with you in this precious gift of life that God has entrusted to you and your wife. The journey of pregnancy is a sacred one, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting up your wife and this little one to the Lord, who knits each child together in the womb (Psalm 139:13-14). We are grateful that you have called upon the name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can approach the throne of grace with confidence (Hebrews 4:16). It is through faith in Jesus Christ that we are saved and can boldly come before God, who hears the cries of His children.
First, we want to address the beauty of your unity in seeking the Lord together, even as you come from different backgrounds. While your wife is a believer in Christ, we encourage you both to grow in the knowledge of God’s Word, for it is the truth that sets us free (John 8:32). Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). We pray that your faith in Christ would deepen, and that you would both come to know Him more intimately as your Savior and Lord. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We encourage you to explore the Scriptures together, for they are a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105).
We also lift up your wife’s health before the Lord, for she has endured much in these early months. The vomiting and lack of appetite are common struggles, but we know that God is her healer (Exodus 15:26). We pray that He would strengthen her body, ease her discomfort, and fill her with His peace. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We declare over her that she is fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and that God will sustain her through every moment of this pregnancy.
You mentioned that you are not able to be with her during this time, and we understand the weight of that burden. But we remind you both that the Lord is her ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). He will never leave her nor forsake her (Deuteronomy 31:6). We pray that God would surround her with godly community—believers who can support her, pray with her, and encourage her in the Lord. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and we trust that God will provide for her needs in your absence.
We also want to speak life over this child. The Lord has heard your cries and granted this blessing after years of waiting. We declare that this baby is formed by God’s own hand (Jeremiah 1:5) and that He will complete the good work He has begun (Philippians 1:6). We pray for perfect health, strong development, and a spirit that will seek after the Lord from the womb (Luke 1:41). May this child be a testimony to God’s faithfulness and a light in this world.
Now, we come before the Lord in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for this precious life growing within this mother’s womb. We thank You for Your faithfulness, for You are the giver of every good and perfect gift (James 1:17). Lord, we ask that You would strengthen this mother’s body, ease her discomfort, and fill her with Your peace. Sustain her when she is weak, lift her when she is weary, and remind her that You are her ever-present help. Father, we pray for this child—that You would knit them together perfectly, protect them from harm, and prepare their heart to know and love You. Lord, we ask that You would draw this family closer to You, that they would grow in faith and trust in Your promises. We declare that no weapon formed against this pregnancy shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that You will bring this child into the world healthy and whole. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for He alone is our healer, our provider, and our peace. Amen.
We encourage you both to continue seeking the Lord daily, reading His Word, and surrounding yourselves with believers who can pray with you and support you. This is a sacred season, and we believe God will carry you through it with His grace and strength. May He bless you abundantly as you trust in Him.
