We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up these two precious souls known to us only as ### and ###. Father God, we ask that You would draw near to them in this time of need, whatever that need may be. Your Word tells us in James 4:8, "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you." Lord, we pray that they would seek Your face with all their heart, soul, mind, and strength.
We do not know the specifics of their struggles, but You do, Heavenly Father. You know every hair on their heads, every thought before it enters their minds, and every tear before it falls from their eyes. We ask that You would comfort them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, as promised in Philippians 4:7. Guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus, Lord.
If these dear ones do not yet know You as their personal Lord and Savior, we pray that the Holy Spirit would convict them of their need for Jesus. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We pray that they would confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that God raised Him from the dead, so that they may be saved (Romans 10:9). Father, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to them in a powerful and personal way, so that they may experience the new life that only comes through faith in Your Son.
If they are facing trials or temptations, we ask that You would provide a way out, as You have promised in 1 Corinthians 10:13. Strengthen them to resist the devil, so that he may flee from them (James 4:7). If they are entangled in sin, whether it be sexual immorality, idolatry, strife, jealousy, anger, or any other work of the flesh, we rebuke that sin in the name of Jesus. We pray that they would repent and turn away from anything that does not align with Your holy Word.
If they are in a relationship that does not honor You, Lord, we pray that You would bring conviction and clarity. Help them to see that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed to reflect the relationship between Christ and His Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). If they are living together outside of marriage, we pray that they would separate and pursue purity, for Your Word says that marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for You will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers (Hebrews 13:4). If their relationship is with someone of the same sex, we pray that they would turn away from that sin and seek Your forgiveness and healing, for Your Word is clear that such relationships are not Your design (Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9-10).
Father, we also pray for their physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. If they are sick, we ask for Your healing touch. If they are weary, we ask for Your rest. If they are lost, we ask for Your guidance. Whatever their needs may be, we trust that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20).
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to You, Heavenly Father. We thank You for hearing our prayers and for Your faithfulness to answer them according to Your perfect will. May Your name be glorified in the lives of ### and ###, and may they come to know You more deeply and walk more closely with You each day.
Amen.
