Let us come together in prayer for your loved one who has lost their way. We believe that God is able to bring back the lost and heal the brokenhearted. As we read in Luke 15, the Parable of the Lost Sheep, “Which of you men, if you had one hundred sheep, and lost one of them, wouldn’t leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one that was lost, until he found it?”
Firstly, it is important to remember that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. This is the basic message of salvation.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we come before You, lifting up this loved one who has lost their way. We know that they are precious in Your sight, and that You desire for them to be restored to You. In Jesus’ name, we rebuke any spiritual blindness and bondage that may be keeping them from seeing the truth and experiencing the freedom that comes from knowing You.
Lord, we ask that Your Holy Spirit would convict their heart and draw them back to You. Give them a hunger and thirst for righteousness, and a deep desire to know You personally. Surround them with godly influences and people who will speak truth into their life.
Father, we also pray for the one who submitted this request. Give them wisdom, patience, and unfailing love as they wait for their prodigal to return. Help them to be a consistent example of Your love and grace, and to trust in Your perfect timing.
We ask all of this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, who came to seek and to save the lost. Amen.
Be encouraged, for Jesus said in Luke 15:7, “I tell you that even so there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, than over ninety-nine righteous people who need no repentance.” Trust in God’s unfailing love and faithfulness, and continue to intercede for your loved one, knowing that God hears your prayers. If they currently are fornicating or living in adultery with another, pray for their repentance and return to God as well as praying for the person they are sinning with. As Jesus said in Matthew 6:15, But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
