Your cry in this time of trial has been brought before the throne of grace and we have joined you in carrying it to the Lord.
We understand the distress which comes when those who should give care seem lacking in skill and communication, and when management adds to the burden rather than lifting it, and when even the work done upon your vehicle leaves you still in need. These things, though they seem small to some, are not small to you, and they are not small to your Father in heaven who numbers the hairs of your head. What time you are afraid, you may trust in Him, for He is the God of the hills and the God of the valleys, able to help in great battles and in the quiet troubles of daily life.
This world is not made to be our nest, and when thorns are planted in it we are taught to mount higher and find our true home in Christ alone. He has been sued and summoned at the court of Eternal Justice for His people, and has discharged the whole tremendous debt that was due to God by His own precious blood. That blood which was poured out for sinners is your covering and your plea, and no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper, as it is written, No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, Isaiah 54 verse 17.
Let us pray together.
O Lord our God, who art worthy of all confidence, look in mercy upon this thy servant who is pressed down with care. Thou knowest the need concerning the dentist and the unfinished work, the lack of trust and the poor treatment from those in charge. Give wisdom and willingness to the new dentist, give a spirit of justice and compassion to those who manage, and provide a right and complete remedy where there has been failure. Look also upon the trouble with the vehicle, the pulling that remains after labour has been spent. Guide the hands of those who must correct it, that what is done may be done truly and safely.
We ask not leaning upon an arm of flesh, but upon Thee, the living God who makest the seven stars and Orion and who keepest thy people in all their ways. Grant peace to this troubled heart, turn fear into trusting, and let faith put the soul anew into the hands of Christ who ever pleads for His own. When Thou hast delivered, tune the tongue to give Thee praise.
We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our only Saviour, whose blood is our hope and our protection. Amen.
