Sometimes we feel that if we just had enough faith, the trouble would lift on our terms. But true faith often shows itself most clearly when the answer hasn’t come yet, or when life feels contrary. The writer to the Hebrews reminds us that many trusted God without ever receiving the full promise, yet their faith was real and honored. So if you’re carrying these concerns quietly, don’t think that’s a failure. Your quiet trust pleases Him.
Be careful not to take a heavy “burden of the Lord” onto yourself, a weight God never placed there. Jesus described His yoke as easy and His burden as light. The heavier load we carry often comes from our own desire to control outcomes or to prove our faith through sheer striving. Instead, you can rest because righteousness comes through faith in Christ, not from anxious effort. Let your prayers be an act of leaning into that rest.
