Disciple of Prayer
I feel guilty for asking for prayers when I need something.
They say never stop chasing your dream.
My life has been difficult, almost unfair. At times I would ask myself why did God put me here. Losing my mom in high school, being homeless at 18, to even trying to leave earth early, but God wouldn’t allow that.
I find myself in a better place and decided to chase my dream of being a police officer. I’m asking for prayers for the person doing my background to see through my mistakes and to see who I truly am. I want to be the change. I want to change lives. If I somehow am given the opportunity, I will forever be grateful and understand what God’s plan was all along. Amen

We lift you up before the Lord with hearts full of compassion, for He sees your struggles and knows the depths of your pain. You have walked through valleys so dark that many would have faltered, yet by God’s mercy, you stand today with a dream to serve and protect—a calling that reflects His heart for justice and redemption. Never feel guilty for bringing your needs before Him, for Scripture tells us to *"cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you"* (1 Peter 5:7, WEB). Your life has not been in vain; every trial has been sifted through His hands, and He is now shaping you into a vessel for His purpose.

The enemy may whisper that your past disqualifies you, but we declare over you the truth of God’s Word: *"If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new"* (2 Corinthians 5:17, WEB). Your mistakes do not define you—Christ’s redemption does. We pray that the one reviewing your background would see beyond human error and recognize the transformation God has wrought in you. May they discern your heart’s sincerity, your hunger for righteousness, and the potential you carry to bring hope to broken places. *"The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the water courses. He turns it wherever he desires"* (Proverbs 21:1, WEB). We ask that He would turn their heart favorably toward you, opening doors no man can shut.

Yet we must also remind you: this dream, as noble as it is, must be surrendered entirely to the Lord. If this path is His will, He will make it unmistakably clear. But if He redirects you, trust that His plans are higher than yours (Isaiah 55:9). Your worth is not tied to a badge or a title—it is anchored in Christ alone. You wrote of wanting to *"be the change"* and *"change lives,"* and we affirm that desire, for it echoes the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20). But remember: true change begins on your knees, in the secret place with God, where He equips you to reflect His love to a hurting world.

We also notice that your prayer did not invoke the name of Jesus, the only name by which we are saved and through whom we boldly approach the throne of grace (John 14:6, Hebrews 4:16). There is no other mediator between God and man (1 Timothy 2:5), and it is by His blood alone that we are cleansed and made worthy. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ as Lord, we urge you to do so today. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you *will* be saved (Romans 10:9). Every good gift—including this dream—flows from His hand.

Now, let us pray over you:

*"Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of Your child, who has walked through fires yet stands today by Your grace. Lord, You collect every tear in Your bottle (Psalm 56:8) and redeem every pain for Your glory. We ask that You would go before them in this background process, softening hearts and opening eyes to see the work You have done in their life. If it is Your will, Lord, grant them favor as they pursue this calling to serve in law enforcement. Clothe them with Your armor (Ephesians 6:10-18) so they may stand firm against the schemes of the enemy, who seeks to discourage them with shame or fear. Remind them that their identity is not in their past or their career, but in Christ alone.

If there are areas of their life not fully surrendered to You, convict them gently but firmly, Lord. Purify their motives, that they would seek first Your kingdom and righteousness (Matthew 6:33), trusting that You will add all things unto them in Your perfect timing. Give them patience to wait on You, strength to endure, and faith to believe that You are working all things for their good (Romans 8:28).

We rebuke every spirit of guilt, rejection, or self-doubt in the mighty name of Jesus. You are not a God who delights in our suffering, but One who turns ashes into beauty (Isaiah 61:3). Let them walk in the confidence that they are *more than a conqueror* through Christ (Romans 8:37), and that their story is a testament to Your faithfulness.

Finally, Lord, we pray that if this dream aligns with Your will, You would make the path straight. But if You have another plan—one they cannot yet see—give them the courage to trust You even when it hurts. May their life, whether in uniform or another calling, bring You glory and draw others to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

We ask all this in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus. Amen."*

Stand firm, beloved. Your story is not over—it is being rewritten by the Author of redemption. *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you hope and a future"* (Jeremiah 29:11, WEB). Keep seeking Him, and He will guide your steps (Proverbs 3:5-6). We are cheering you on in the faith!

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for allowing us the honor of lifting you up in prayer these past few days. Your heart for service and your desire to bring change through this calling is a testament to how God has been working in your life, even through the deepest valleys. We are humbled that you trusted us to stand with you in agreement, asking God to open this door and help others see the redemption and purpose He has placed within you.

If God has moved in this situation—whether through an answer, a new direction, or even a sense of His peace—we would love for you to share a praise report with us. Your story could be the very encouragement someone else needs to keep trusting Him in their own struggles. And if this request is still before you, please don’t hesitate to post it again. We will continue to pray with you, believing that God’s timing is perfect and His plans for you are good, even when the wait feels heavy.

You’ve already overcome so much, and we are cheering you on as you seek God’s will. Remember, He who began this good work in you will carry it to completion. May He fill you with hope and strength as you keep your eyes on Him, trusting that every step of your journey—even the hard ones—has been part of His purpose for your life.

We are praying for you in Jesus’ Name.
