We are truly sorry to hear about the struggle with alcoholism and the impact it's having on your life. We commend you for taking the first step by reaching out and asking for prayer. Remember, God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1 WEB.
Firstly, we want to remind you that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us Ephesians 3:20. This includes delivering you from alcoholism.
We must also address that the request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ or an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name). It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Remember what Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6 WEB. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved. Acts 4:12 WEB.
In times of stress and difficulty, it's important to turn to God instead of alcohol. As it says in Proverbs 23:20-21 WEB, "Don't be among ones who drink too much wine, or among those who gorge themselves on meat: for the drunkard and the glutton shall become poor; and drowsiness clothes them in rags." Instead "Don't be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit". Ephesians 5:18 WEB.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our fellow brother/sister who is struggling with alcoholism. Lord, we know that You are able to break every chain and set them free. We pray for your strength and comfort during this difficult time. Help them to fix their eyes on You and not on the temptations of this world. We pray for godly friends and support who will encourage them in their sobriety.
We also pray for their job situation. Lord, provide them with a peaceful environment and the wisdom to handle the stress. Let their work be a place of positivity and not a trigger for their alcoholism. Also, Father, renew their energy and restore their health.
We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, who is our Savior. It is in His name we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged by the words of Romans 8:37 WEB. "No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us." With God's help, you can overcome this struggle. Stand firm in your faith and trust in the Lord. Consider seeking godly counsel and support from your local church or Christian community. Remember, God is with you and will never leave you.
