Chrysostom
Beloved of All
We have heard your prayer and we join you in bringing it before the Lord.
You have asked well, for wisdom and understanding and peace are gifts that God delights to give to those who seek Him. True wisdom is not of this world and does not come from our own strength or bargaining or labor, but from the grace of the Spirit. As it is written, we speak not a wisdom of this world, but God's wisdom in a mystery, and in Christ are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Therefore we pray that you would seek Him above all, for He alone knows all things and He alone gives wisdom and knowledge to those who ask.
Scripture teaches that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and that virtue is the root of prudence. We pray that God would help you to cast aside all that darkens the soul and to walk in love and faith with full assurance of understanding, that you may know more deeply the mystery of God in Christ and be knit together in love.
You have also asked for peace, and we pray that the peace of Christ, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. This is the peace He promised when He said, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you. It is a peace that remains even when we are told to be at peace with those around us, and it is far greater than our own thoughts or the understanding of angels, because it is from God Himself who gives it.
So we pray for you now, that the Lord who has delivered us in ways beyond our comprehension would Himself be with you and guide you, keep you firm in faith, grant you wisdom that is heavenly and not merely earthly, fill you with understanding, and establish you in His peace. May He lead you each step and make you wise through His Word and His Spirit.
We will continue to pray for you, that you may not be overwhelmed by temptation or carried about by deceit, but guarded and secured from all harm, and that you may remain steadfast in Him.
May the Lord hear your prayer and answer according to His good will. Amen.
