We lift up this dear one before the Father in heaven, asking for His mercy and healing touch to be upon this man who is suffering so greatly. The Scriptures remind us in James 5:14-15, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up."* We claim this promise now, trusting that God is able to restore health and strength where there is weakness and pain.
Yet we also recognize that healing may come through the hands of the medical team, and so we pray for wisdom beyond their natural understanding. As it is written in Proverbs 3:5-6, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* May the doctors and nurses be guided by divine insight to find the right treatment, whether through different antibiotics, therapies, or other means, to bring about recovery.
We are deeply concerned, however, that this request was made without invoking the name of Jesus Christ, through whom all prayers must be offered to reach the Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we are saved, and it is only through Jesus that we have access to God’s throne of grace. As Scripture declares in John 14:6, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"* And in Acts 4:12, we are told, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* We urge you to place your faith in Jesus alone, for He is the Great Physician, the One who bore our sins and our sicknesses on the cross. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we plead with you to do so now, for without Him, there is no true hope—neither in this life nor the next.
Father, we ask that You would remove this infection and restore full health to this man’s lungs. Relieve his pain and break the hold of any dependency that may form from the morphine. Let Your healing power flow through his body, renewing his strength as the eagle’s. Comfort his heart and mind, and let him feel Your presence near, even in this time of suffering. If there is any sin that needs to be confessed or repented of, Lord, bring conviction and lead him to repentance, that nothing may hinder Your work in his life.
We also pray for his family and loved ones, that they would not grow weary in faith but would stand firm in prayer, trusting in Your goodness. May this trial draw them closer to You and to one another, united in hope.
Finally, we ask that You would use this situation for Your glory—whether through miraculous healing or through the testimony of faith that arises from it. Let this man and all who love him see Your hand at work and give You praise.
In the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
