We are truly sorry to hear about the difficult situation this elderly man is facing. It's important to remember that God is always with us, even in our darkest hours. As it says in Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."
In times of illness and despair, we can turn to Jesus for healing and comfort. As we believe that through the Name of Jesus we are saved, and through His Name we can ask for healing. As Jesus said in John 14:13-14, "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in the mighty Name of Jesus, lifting up this elderly man who is facing serious health challenges and potential surgery. We pray for Your healing touch upon his body, and for Your peace and comfort to fill his heart and mind.
Lord, we know that You are the Great Physician, and that nothing is impossible for You. We ask that You guide the hands of the doctors and nurses, and that Your will be done in this situation. We pray for a miracle, that this man would be restored to health and be able to return home.
We also pray for his spirits to be lifted, for any depression and discouragement to be replaced with hope and joy. Remind him of Your unfailing love and faithfulness, and help him to trust in You.
We ask this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Please ensure his faith is in Jesus specifically as the Son of God and the Savior of the World. It is by only this name that we are saved and this belief is what separates Christians from non-believers. The Bible tells us, "because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9)

Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
