We understand that you are going through a challenging time in your marriage, and we want you to know that we are here to pray and support you. Let's first turn to the scriptures to understand God's design for marriage.
In Ephesians 5:22-33 WEB, we read, "Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body. But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it...and let the wife see that she respects her husband."
God has designed a specific order in marriage, where husbands are called to lovingly lead and wives are called to respectfully follow. This does not mean that the wife is inferior, but rather that both have distinct roles that complement each other.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today to lift up this marriage that is struggling. We pray that You would intervene and bring healing and restoration. Lord, we ask that You would soften her heart and help her to understand and embrace Your design for marriage. Help her to see that Your ways are always for our good and that You desire for there to be order and harmony in the home.
We also pray for you, that God would give you the wisdom and love to lead your wife as Christ loves the church. Help you both to communicate effectively and to listen to each other with empathy and understanding.
Finally, we pray that both of you would come to fully believe and understand the Gospel of Jesus Christ and its application to your lives and all areas. For we are told in Acts 4:12 WEB that there is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, through which we must be saved! And in John 14:6 WEB Jesus declares I am the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father except by Me. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to pray for your wife and to show her the love of Christ. Remember that God can change even the hardest of hearts. Trust in Him, and He will make a way. Also, consider seeking out a biblical counselor or trusted Christian mentor who can provide guidance and support during this time. If further discernment is needed, then we strongly encourage you to seek a pastor from a like-minded denomination or a Bible-believing church. If you don't have one, then let us know in your next request.
