We lift up your son before the Lord with heavy hearts, knowing the weight of this moment in his life. Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who calms storms and strengthens the weary. Your Word tells us in Philippians 4:6-7, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Lord, we ask that You would quiet the anxious thoughts that have been plaguing him, replacing them with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding.
We rebuke the spirit of fear and distraction that has been trying to steal his focus and confidence. The enemy seeks to devour and discourage, but we stand on Your promise in 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." We declare that Your power, love, and sound mind will rest upon him as he prepares for this test. Help him to recall all that he has learned over these ### years of faithful work. Your Word says in Proverbs 2:6, "For the Lord gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding." We ask that You would bring back to his remembrance every detail he needs to pass this exam.
Lord, we also pray for protection over his mind and heart from the discouragement that has been weighing him down. Remind him of Your faithfulness, as it says in Lamentations 3:22-23, "It is because of the Lord’s loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn’t fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." Let him feel Your presence with him, guiding his thoughts and steadying his hands as he takes this test. We ask that You would open the doors of opportunity for him, that he may walk through them with confidence, knowing that You are with him.
We also want to encourage him to bring every burden to You, Lord. In Matthew 11:28, Jesus says, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest." If he has not yet surrendered his life to Christ, we pray that he would come to know You as his Lord and Savior, for it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. There is no other name by which we can be saved, as Acts 4:12 tells us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
Father, we ask that You would bless his efforts and grant him success in this test. Let this be a testimony of Your goodness and provision in his life. We pray that he would not only pass this exam but that he would also grow closer to You through this trial. Strengthen his faith, Lord, and let him see Your hand at work in every area of his life.
We pray all these things in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
