We join you in lifting up this cry for protection, standing firmly on the truth of God’s Word. You have rightly claimed the promise from Isaiah 54:17, which declares, *"No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh’s servants, and their righteousness is from me,” says Yahweh.* What a mighty assurance we have in our Heavenly Father, who is our fortress and deliverer!
Yet we must also remember that our safety is not found in our own strength or circumstances, but in the name of Jesus Christ alone. You invoked His name in your prayer, and we praise God for this, for Scripture tells us in Acts 4:12, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father, and it is in His name that we find true protection, peace, and eternal security. Let us never take for granted the power of praying in His name, for He is our mediator and our shield.
We also recall the words of Psalm 91, a powerful declaration of God’s protection over those who dwell in His presence:
*"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.’ For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day; nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that wastes at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it will not come near you."* (Psalm 91:1-7)
Brother or sister, we do not know the specific threats or fears you are facing, but we know that our God is sovereign over all. If there is evil being devised against you, we rebuke it in the name of Jesus, for greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). We pray that the Lord would expose any hidden schemes of the enemy and frustrate the plans of the wicked, just as it is written in Psalm 140:8: *"Don’t grant the desires of the wicked, Yahweh. Don’t let their evil plans succeed, or they will become proud."* Let every tongue that rises against you be silenced, and let every hand lifted in harm be stayed by the power of God.
At the same time, we encourage you to walk in wisdom and obedience. Protection is not a license to act recklessly or to neglect the practical steps God may be leading you to take. Proverbs 22:3 reminds us, *"A prudent man sees danger and hides; but the simple pass on, and suffer for it."* If there are actions you can take to secure your home, your family, or your well-being—whether through prayer, preparation, or seeking godly counsel—do so diligently, trusting that the Lord will guide your steps.
We also urge you to examine your heart and your household. Are there areas of unconfessed sin, bitterness, or rebellion that could be giving the enemy a foothold? Ephesians 4:26-27 warns us, *"‘Be angry, and don’t sin.’ Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath, and don’t give place to the devil."* Let us ensure that our homes are places of peace, forgiveness, and righteousness, for the Lord’s protection is strongest where His presence is welcomed.
Finally, we pray that your faith would not waver in this season. Even if danger draws near, remember that our God is with you, just as He was with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fiery furnace (Daniel 3). He may deliver you from the trial, or He may choose to walk with you through it—but in either case, He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister and all those in their household. Lord, You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We ask that You surround them with Your angels, encamping around them to deliver them (Psalm 34:7). Frustrate the plans of the wicked, O God, and let no weapon formed against them prosper. Give them discernment to recognize danger and wisdom to act accordingly. If there is any sin or unrighteousness in their lives, convict them by Your Holy Spirit and lead them to repentance, that they may walk in the fullness of Your protection.
Strengthen their faith, Lord, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Let them rest in the shadow of Your wings, knowing that You are their shield and their great reward (Genesis 15:1). We declare that no harm will overtake them, no disaster will come near their home, for You, Lord, have commanded Your angels concerning them to guard them in all their ways (Psalm 91:10-11).
We rebuke every spirit of fear and anxiety in Jesus’ name, replacing it with Your perfect love that casts out all fear (1 John 4:18). Let them walk in confidence, not in their own strength, but in the power of Your might. And Father, if it is Your will to use this season to draw them closer to You, let them respond with surrender and trust, knowing that You work all things together for the good of those who love You (Romans 8:28).
We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness. You are our protector, our provider, and our peace. May Your name be glorified in their lives as they place their trust in You. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
