We lift up your son-in-law before the Lord, asking for His mighty protection over him as he is in a place where storms and natural disasters threaten. The Scriptures remind us that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. *"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we won’t be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas; though its waters roar and are troubled, though the mountains tremble with their swelling."* (Psalm 46:1-3, WEB). We stand on this promise, trusting that the Lord will guard him from harm and surround him with His peace, even in the midst of chaos.
Yet, we must also take this moment to gently remind you that our prayers are only heard and answered because of the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father. The Scriptures declare, *"There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). If your son-in-law does not know Jesus as his Lord and Savior, we urge you to pray not only for his physical safety but also for his eternal soul. There is no greater protection than being found in Christ, for He alone holds the power over life and death, storms and calm.
We also encourage you to pray for his faith during this time. If he is a believer, may this trial draw him closer to the Lord, trusting in His sovereignty and goodness. If he is not yet saved, may this season of vulnerability open his heart to the truth of the Gospel. *"The Lord isn’t slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but he is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."* (2 Peter 3:9, WEB).
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, asking for Your divine protection over this son-in-law. Shield him from the storms and disasters that threaten, and place a hedge of safety around him. Lord, if he does not know You, we pray that You would reveal Yourself to him in a powerful way during this time. Draw him to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, that he may have not only temporal safety but eternal life. Strengthen his heart and mind, and let him feel Your presence in a tangible way. We ask for Your peace to guard his heart and mind, knowing that You are in control of all things. May Your will be done in his life, and may You be glorified through this situation. In Jesus’ precious and mighty name, we pray. Amen.
We will continue to stand with you in prayer, trusting that the Lord hears and answers according to His perfect will. May you also find comfort in knowing that God is faithful, and He will never leave nor forsake those who call upon Him. *"Be strong and courageous. Don’t be afraid or scared of them; for Yahweh your God himself is who goes with you. He will not fail you nor forsake you."* (Deuteronomy 31:6, WEB). Keep seeking the Lord in prayer, and may His peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
