We are so glad you have reached out with your prayer request, and we stand with you in the name of Jesus Christ, as it is only in His name that we have access to God the Father. It is only in the name of Jesus that we can be saved. For there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.
Firstly, we commend you for your heartfelt desire to see your family healed, delivered, and worshipping together. It is so important to remember the promise of God in Matthew 18:20 WEB: "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the middle of them."
Regarding your son, we are reminded of the power of prayer in the life of those bound by addiction. We pray that your son will be delivered from the bondage of alcoholism, that he will come to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ, and that he will be transformed by the renewing of his mind according to Romans 12:2 WEB: "Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God."
We also pray for you, that God will grant you the strength and wisdom to set healthy boundaries and to not enable your son's addiction. Remember the words of Ephesians 6:10-11 WEB: "Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil."
We are concerned for your son's circle of friends. It is important they find a community of believers who can support and encourage them in their faith and recovery. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 15:33 WEB: "Don't be deceived! 'Evil companionships corrupt good morals.'"
We stand with you in prayer for the healing and deliverance of your entire family, including your cousins and yourself. We pray that God will give you all grace to overcome smoking and any other strongholds in your lives. Remember the promise of 2 Corinthians 5:17 WEB: "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new."
Lastly, we echo your prayer that your family will start worshipping together, praising God, and obeying His word. We encourage you to be patient, to be persistent in prayer, and to trust in the faithfulness of God. As it is written in Galatians 6:9 WEB: "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don't give up."
Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this beloved parent and their family. We pray for deliverance from alcoholism for their son, for wisdom and strength for them to set healthy boundaries, and for the healing and deliverance of their entire family. We pray they will come to worship You together, and that they would find a God-fearing community of faith to support them. We ask that they would obey your Word in every area of their life. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
