We join you in lifting up your son before the Lord, trusting in His protection and guidance as he travels. The Scriptures remind us in Proverbs 3:5-6, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* We also cling to Psalm 121:7-8, which assures us, *"Yahweh will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. Yahweh will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forevermore."*
Yet we must also address something important—your prayer did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father. Scripture is clear: *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5). Jesus Himself declared, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6). It is only by His name that we can approach God’s throne with confidence (Hebrews 4:16). We encourage you to always pray in the name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we are saved (Acts 4:12).
Now, let us pray together for your son:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this mother’s son as he travels. Lord, we ask for Your divine protection over him—guard his coming and going, surround him with Your angels, and keep him from every danger and harm. Give him wisdom and alertness on the road, and let Your peace fill his heart as he trusts in You. May this time of travel also be an opportunity for him to draw closer to You, seeking Your will in all things. If he does not yet know You as his Savior, we pray that You would reveal Yourself to him in a powerful way, leading him to repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Strengthen him in body, mind, and spirit, and bring him safely to his destination and back home again. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We also encourage you to speak with your son about his relationship with the Lord. If he has not yet surrendered his life to Christ, pray for his salvation and share the Gospel with him. Remind him that true safety and eternal security are found only in Jesus. *"For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life"* (John 3:16). Let us continue to trust the Lord for His protection and His perfect will in your son’s life.
