We join with you in prayer, seeking God's will for your marriage in Jesus' name. It is wonderful to see that you have united in marriage and are seeking God's blessing and guidance. Remember, the Bible tells us that a cord of three strands is not quickly broken (Ecclesiastes 4:12 WEB). As you both remain committed to God and to each other, your marriage will be strengthened.
In every marriage, there will be misunderstandings, but God gives us guidance or how to overcome them. We are told in the book of Colossians, "Put on therefore, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance; bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do" (Colossians 3:12-13 WEB).
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up this marriage to You. We thank You for bringing this couple together, and we ask that You would bless their union with Your everlasting love and guidance. Help them to understand each other better, to communicate effectively, and to be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry (James 1:19 WEB).
We rebuke any spirit of division or strife that may be causing misunderstandings between them. We pray that You would fill their hearts with Your love, patience, and kindness. Guide them as they navigate their life together, that they may always seek Your will and Your glory in their marriage.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Continue to love each other and remember that love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things (1 Corinthians 13:4-7 ESV).
Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2 WEB). Trust in Him, and He will guide your marriage according to His good and perfect will. Do not be ashamed or embarrassed to seek godly marriage counseling if you cannot overcome these struggles on your own.
