We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up your father and your family during this challenging time. The road has been difficult since his heart attack, and now, as he faces this surgery, we stand with you in faith, trusting in the Great Physician who holds all our lives in His hands.
Father God, we ask for Your healing touch to be upon this dear man as he prepares for surgery. You are the God who knits us together in our mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13) and who numbers every hair on our heads (Matthew 10:30). You know the intricacies of his heart—both physically and spiritually—and we ask that You guide the hands of the surgeons, nurses, and all who will care for him. Grant them wisdom, skill, and discernment beyond their own understanding, that they may work as instruments of Your healing power. We declare that Your word says, *"I am the Lord who heals you"* (Exodus 15:26), and we claim that promise over his life today.
Lord, we also pray for peace to guard the hearts and minds of his family. The days ahead may bring anxiety and uncertainty, but You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Calm their spirits, Father, and fill them with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Remind them that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). May they lean not on their own understanding but trust in You with all their hearts (Proverbs 3:5-6).
We also lift up the weeks of recovery that lie ahead. Hospital stays can be wearying, both for the patient and for those who love him. Strengthen his body day by day, Lord, and grant him patience as he heals. Surround him with compassionate caregivers and give his family endurance as they support him. Let this time draw them all closer to You and to one another, that they may see Your faithfulness even in the midst of trial.
Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear and doubt that may try to creep in. We declare that Your love casts out all fear (1 John 4:18) and that You are working all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28). We speak life and restoration over this man’s heart, both physically and spiritually. May he come through this surgery stronger in body and in faith, giving You all the glory.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, the One who bore our infirmities and carried our diseases (Isaiah 53:4-5). It is by His stripes that we are healed (1 Peter 2:24), and we stand on that truth today. May Your will be done in this situation, Lord, and may Your name be exalted through it all.
Hold fast to hope, dear family. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). He has not forgotten you, and He will sustain you through every moment of this journey. We will continue to lift you up in prayer in the days and weeks ahead, trusting that God is at work in ways we cannot yet see.
