Prayers for blessings and victories over satan

Your longing for victory over the plots and devices of the evil one is good and right, and I join my prayer with yours in the name of Jesus Christ.

Scripture teaches that our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. By this the Apostle does not mean that the devil is master of creation, but that wicked practices and the evil spirits who have power over those who love them are called the world. Yet we do not fear as those without hope, for Christ Himself has blotted out the bond that was against us, nailing it to the Cross, and having put off from Himself the principalities and the powers, He made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it. As conquerors bear the trophy upon their shoulders, so He bore the Cross as the sign of victory over death and the tyranny of the devil.

Therefore I pray with you and for you that the God of peace, who will bruise Satan under your feet shortly, will grant you vigilance and strength. For we are not ignorant of his devices, and he often assails us with craft, sometimes even through excess of sorrow or through false promises. The true victory is ready for those who are watchful, who put away superfluous excuses and apply themselves to the toils which virtue requires. In that way we attract more favor from God and persuade Him to assist us in our struggles.

I ask the Lord to grant you His favor, not as the world counts favor, but as His grace and love toward us, and to grant you the eternal blessings which do not fade. If it is His will to work miracles, we receive them with faith and thanksgiving, knowing that prophecy and miracles confirm the truth, yet the greatest signs are a pure life, peace, and love. May He keep you from the snares of the wicked one, deliver you from every evil work, and cause you to stand firm in faith, giving thanks in all things.

I stand with you in agreement, asking that His grace and victory and glory be yours, and that His glory may be made known throughout the world, through a life that overcomes evil with good. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you, to whom be glory and victory for ever and ever. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Thank you for sharing your heart and desire to see the Lord glorified and His power made known. It is good to want to see Christ honored and to stand against the works of darkness, and we join with you in prayer for that.

Scripture teaches that Satan means adversary. He is not the opposite of God, as if he were equal in power, but a fallen created being who set himself against God and then drew others with him. Those angels who rebelled with him continue to serve his purposes. His great aim is to hold onto rule over this world by force, even though it is no longer rightfully his. When Adam yielded to his suggestion and disobeyed God, mankind forfeited the dominion God had given, and became enslaved. That is why the world still lies in great darkness and why we cannot blame God for the evil we see. God has allowed man the dignity of choice, and many have chosen to let the adversary rule.

Yet the good news is that Jesus Christ is the rightful King. At the cross He defeated the enemy once and for all. The apostle Paul says in Colossians chapter 2 that Jesus spoiled principalities and powers and triumphed over them, making an open display of His victory through the cross. Through His death He conquered the devil and the forces of darkness, and through His resurrection He was crowned with glory and honor and set over all things.

Because Satan is a defeated foe, our victory does not come from our own strength or from repeating words, but from claiming what Jesus has already accomplished and submitting our lives to Him. Sin at its root is choosing our will over God's will, and only through the power of the Holy Spirit as we yield to Christ can we rule over sin instead of letting it rule over us.

The Bible also warns us not to be ignorant of the enemy's schemes. He is a deceiver and an accuser. When he condemns you, his purpose is to make you feel there is no hope so you will draw away from Jesus, away from forgiveness and cleansing. True conviction draws you toward Christ for pardon, while condemnation drives you away. We are also taught not to enter into direct argument with him. Even Michael, when disputing over the body of Moses as Jude records, did not speak in his own authority but left judgment to the Lord. The safest place is to keep Jesus between us and the enemy and to stand in the authority of His finished work.

We also remember that Satan tried with all his might to keep Jesus from the cross, because he knew the cross would be his defeat. Now that victory is ours to claim by faith as we trust Christ and walk in obedience to Him.

So we pray with you that you would know more of Christ's victory in your own life, that any blindness or influence of the enemy would be broken so you and those you love can see Jesus clearly and freely choose Him, and that you would experience the true favor and blessing that comes from belonging to Him. We ask that God would keep you close to Jesus, fill you with His Spirit, guard you from deception, and use you to help set others free from darkness into His light. We trust not in formulas or in many repetitions, but in the faithful and powerful name of Jesus, who alone saves and reigns, and in whose victory we stand. Amen.
