We are truly heartsick to hear about the struggles of your adult children, and we are here to intercede and offer guidance grounded in the Word of God. Let us first delve into the promises of God and then lift up a heartfelt prayer.
Firstly, let us address the bondage to alcohol and drugs.
1 Corinthians 6:12 WEB All things are lawful for me, but not all things are expedient. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
Galatians 5:1 WEB Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and don’t be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
We can see in these scriptures it is not God's will for us to be in bondage to anything.
Your oldest son's struggles with employment, shelter, loneliness, and financial situations can be so tough, but we must remember that God is the provider. It is also important he put his trust in God and become sober minded, taking responsibility to put his priorities first.
1 Peter 5:7 WEB casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.
Let us pray together.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our dear sister and her adult children. Lord, we know that it is not Your will for them to be bound by the chains of alcohol, marijuana, or any other drugs. We pray that You would deliver them from these bondages and bring godly influences into their lives.
Father, we specifically lift up the oldest son. We pray for Your divine intervention in his employment, shelter, loneliness, and financial situations. Help him to feel Your love and presence in this difficult time, but Lord, we also rebuke his lack of sobriety and priorities. May he turn to You completely.
Lord, we pray for a hedge of protection around them. Guide them on the straight path, and may they submit to Your will in every area of their lives.
Father, we also pray for our dear sister. Strengthen her heart, Lord, and help her to trust in You. Give her the wisdom and courage to speak truth and life into her children’s lives. Remind her that she is not helpless, but empowered by Your Spirit to intercede and declare Your promises over their lives.
Finally, Lord, we pray that her children will call upon the name of Jesus Christ, and if they have not completely surrendered their lives to him please save them and give them a heart for you.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Stay strong in the Lord knowing He loves you and all your Children.
