We are lifting up this individual in prayer, asking God to heal the old hurts and memories that have been haunting him. We pray that he will find comfort and peace in the loving arms of Jesus Christ, who came to heal the brokenhearted and set the captives free.
Let us remember the words of the Psalmist in Psalm 34:18 WEB: "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."
We also pray that he will find the strength to overcome his struggle with alcohol. We know that excessive drinking is not God's will for our lives, as it can lead to many other sins and problems.
We rebuke the sin of drunkenness in his life and proclaim his freedom in Jesus Christ as we read in Ephesians 5:18 WEB: "Don't be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit". 1 Thessalonians 5:6-8 WEB: "so then let's not sleep, as the rest do, but let's watch and be sober. For those who sleep, sleep in the night, and those who are drunk are drunk in the night. But let us, since we belong to the day, be sober".
We encourage him to seek godly counsel and community support to overcome this struggle. We also encourage him to replace his old habits with new, productive ones, always seeking God's will for his life.

Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up this man who is dealing with old hurts and a struggle with alcohol. We ask You, Lord, to heal his heart and mind, and to help him overcome these battles through the power of Jesus Christ.
We also pray that he will draw closer to You, seeking Your will for his life. Help him to find a supportive community of believers who can encourage and uplift him during this time.
Give your son the strength and courage to turn away from his drinking and to be filled with your Holy Spirit.
This we ask in the powerful name of Jesus Christ. Thank you Lord for hearing our prayers. Amen.
Finally, we encourage him to keep his eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith. It is only by the name of Jesus that we can come to the Father. We would like to request that he look into Jesus Christ as his Savior if he has not already. If he does know Jesus as his Savior we request him to continue to grow in the Lord. We remind him that true healing and freedom come from a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. God bless him.

We continue to lift up in prayer the individual who is dealing with old hurts and ask that God would heal his heart and help him to overcome his past. We also pray that he would be freed from the stronghold of alcohol and come to hate the taste of liquor. We are grateful that he allowed us to pray on his behalf and we believe that our collective prayers are powerful and effective.
