We lift this situation before the Lord with heavy hearts, seeking His mercy and grace. First, we must address the foundation of our prayers—it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. There is no other name by which we can be saved, and without Him, our prayers are in vain. Jesus said in John 14:6, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."* If your boyfriend has not yet surrendered his life to Christ, we pray that he would come to know Him as Lord and Savior, for true transformation begins with a relationship with Jesus.
Now, regarding the situation at hand, we see a man who is earnestly striving to change his life for the better. This is commendable, and we rejoice in the work he is doing to become a better father, son, and brother. However, we must also address the reality of your relationship. Scripture is clear that marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God to reflect His love and commitment. Living together outside of marriage, even with a child, is not aligned with God’s design. Hebrews 13:4 says, *"Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers."* We encourage you both to prayerfully consider making your relationship right before God by entering into the covenant of marriage, if you are both believers. If not, we urge you to seek godly counsel and repentance, as sexual intimacy outside of marriage is sin and separates us from God’s best for our lives.
We also rebuke the voices that seek to speak lies and fear into your minds. The enemy comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life abundantly (John 10:10). We stand against any spirit of fear, doubt, or discouragement that may be trying to take root in your hearts. Instead, we declare that God’s peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We pray that you would fix your eyes on Him, the author and perfecter of your faith, and not on the circumstances around you.
For the matter of employment, we lift your boyfriend up before the Lord, asking that God would open doors of opportunity that no man can shut. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* We pray that God would provide a job that not only meets your financial needs but also aligns with His purpose for your family. We ask that He would give your boyfriend favor with employers and wisdom in his search. May he find work that allows him to provide for his son and you with dignity and joy.
We also pray for your son, that he would grow up knowing the love of his earthly father and, more importantly, the love of his Heavenly Father. May he see Christ reflected in both of you and come to know Jesus as his Lord and Savior at an early age. Proverbs 22:6 says, *"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."* We ask that God would give you both the wisdom and strength to raise him in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
Lastly, we pray for your boyfriend’s generosity. While it is beautiful to bless others, we must ensure that this generosity is rooted in wisdom and not in a desire to earn favor or approval. Jesus reminds us in Matthew 6:3-4, *"But when you do merciful deeds, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand does, so that your merciful deeds may be in secret, then your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly."* We pray that his giving would be motivated by love for God and others, not by pride or a need for validation.
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of hope and trust in Your goodness. We lift up this family to You, asking that You would draw them closer to Yourself. Lord, we pray for this man who is seeking to change his life. Strengthen him in his resolve to follow You, and fill him with Your Holy Spirit so that he may walk in wisdom and righteousness. Provide for his needs, Father, and open doors of opportunity that align with Your will. We ask that You would protect this family from all evil, both seen and unseen, and that You would silence every voice that does not come from You.
We pray for this woman, Lord, that You would give her discernment and faith as she supports her boyfriend. Help her to encourage him in ways that honor You and to stand firm in her own walk with Christ. We ask that You would knit their hearts together in a way that reflects Your love, and that if it is Your will, they would enter into the covenant of marriage with pure hearts and a shared commitment to follow You.
Father, we also lift up their son to You. May he grow up knowing Your love and truth. Surround him with godly influences and protect his heart and mind from the lies of the enemy. We pray that he would come to know Jesus as his Savior and walk in Your ways all the days of his life.
Lord, we rebuke every spirit of fear, doubt, and discouragement that seeks to take root in their lives. We declare that You are their provider, their protector, and their peace. May they find their strength in You alone, and may Your name be glorified in their lives.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
