Prayer

Disciple of Prayer
Hi all. I feel like a broken record I really do. I cry out to God every day, I have cried every day for 3 weeks. We are going to lose our home and I have been without a job for months now. I did have a job interview this last Saturday but there is a process and I have to wait it out. If I am being honest it's my fault that we are losing our home. I started gambling during covid and it has just progressed through the years. I am tormented with guilt and shame every day there isn't a day that goes by that I don't hate myself. But I know that our God is the God of miracles and I know that He didn't bring me this far to leave me. I pray that whatever the Lord has for me that He gives me the wisdom and strength to accept and grow from this! In Jesus mighty name I pray, Amen!

We hear the deep anguish in your heart, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting you up before the throne of grace where mercy and help are found in time of need. Your honesty about the struggle with gambling and the consequences it has brought upon your family is a courageous first step toward healing and restoration. The guilt and shame you carry are heavy burdens, but we declare over you that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. The enemy would love to keep you trapped in self-hatred, but God’s desire is to set you free and restore you completely.

First, we want to address the power of the name of Jesus in your life. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and it is His blood that washes away every sin when we confess and repent. You have rightly called upon His name, and we rejoice that you are seeking Him in this time of distress. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to confess this sin of gambling before the Lord, repent with a sincere heart, and turn away from it completely. The Bible tells us in 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." God’s forgiveness is immediate and complete, and His grace is sufficient to break every chain of addiction.

We also rebuke the spirit of addiction that has taken hold of your life. Gambling is not merely a bad habit—it is a snare of the enemy designed to steal, kill, and destroy. But Jesus came that you might have life and have it abundantly. We declare that the power of this addiction is broken in the name of Jesus, and we pray for the Holy Spirit to fill you with self-control, a fruit of the Spirit that is your birthright as a child of God. The Word says in 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." You are not powerless; you are empowered by the Spirit of God to overcome this struggle.

We pray for your job situation with urgency and faith. Father, we ask that You open the doors of employment for this dear one. You are the God who provides, and we trust that You will supply every need according to Your riches in glory. We declare that the interview process will move swiftly and favorably, and that a job will be secured before the home is lost. We stand on Your promise in Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." We also pray for wisdom in managing finances moving forward, that there would be no lack in your household.

We also lift up your marriage and family during this time. The strain of financial hardship and the weight of this struggle can take a toll on even the strongest relationships. We pray for unity, patience, and grace to flow between you and your spouse. May you both turn to the Lord together, seeking His face and His will for your family. The Bible instructs us in Ephesians 4:2-3, "With all lowliness and humility, with patience, bearing with one another in love; being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace." We pray that your home would be a place of peace, love, and restoration, even in the midst of this trial.

We declare that this is not the end of your story. God has not brought you this far to leave you. He is the God of miracles, and we believe He is working even now to turn this situation around for your good. Romans 8:28 assures us, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose." We pray that you would hold fast to this truth, even when circumstances seem impossible. May your faith be strengthened as you wait on the Lord, and may you experience His peace that surpasses all understanding.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear one who is crying out to You in their time of need. Lord, we thank You that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit. We confess the sin of gambling before You, and we ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing. Wash away the guilt and shame, and replace it with the peace and joy of Your salvation. Break the chains of addiction in the name of Jesus, and fill this one with Your Holy Spirit, granting self-control and wisdom to walk in Your ways.

Father, we ask for Your provision in this time of financial hardship. Open the doors of employment, and let this job process be swift and successful. Provide for every need, Lord, and protect their home from being lost. We declare that You are their provider, and we trust in Your faithfulness to care for them. Strengthen their marriage and family, Lord, and let Your love and unity prevail in their home.

We rebuke every spirit of fear, anxiety, and despair, and we declare that this situation will turn around for good. You are the God of miracles, and we believe that You are working even now to restore what has been lost. Give them the strength to endure, the wisdom to make godly decisions, and the faith to trust in You completely. May they grow closer to You through this trial, and may Your name be glorified in their lives.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We're right there with you, friend, in this tough time. We know the weight of guilt and shame can be overwhelming, but remember, God is a God of second chances, and He's right there with you, ready to help you pick up the pieces and start again.

We want to encourage you to keep crying out to God, just like you've been doing. He hears you, and He's working in your life even now. The Bible tells us in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Trust that He's in the process of healing and restoring you.

We also want to remind you that God is faithful. He's brought you this far, and He won't leave you now. In Matthew 11:28-29, Jesus says, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." Jesus invites you to come to Him, to find rest and strength for the journey ahead.

Let's keep praying together, okay? Let's ask God to give you the strength to face each day, the wisdom to make good decisions, and the faith to trust in Him completely. Let's ask Him to provide for your needs, to open the doors of employment, and to protect your home. Let's also pray for unity and peace in your marriage and family.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
