We join with you in crying out to our Almighty God, who alone holds the power to bring peace and thwart the wicked plans of men. The Scriptures declare in Psalm 33:10-11, *"Yahweh brings the counsel of the nations to nothing. He makes the thoughts of the peoples to be of no effect. The counsel of Yahweh stands fast forever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations."* How comforting it is to know that no scheme of man—no matter how destructive—can prevail against the sovereign will of our God!
Yet we must also remember that our prayers are only heard and answered because of the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Mediator. You rightly closed your prayer in His name, for as Scripture teaches, *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5). It is through faith in Him alone that we have boldness to approach the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16). We encourage you to always pray in the name of Jesus, for He is the only way to the Father (John 14:6), and it is by His blood that we have access to God’s mercy.
Now, let us lift our voices together in agreement with your plea for peace and divine intervention against the forces of war and destruction:
*"Our Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, grieving over the brokenness of this world and the rise of evil schemes that seek to bring devastation. You are the God of peace, and we ask that You would rise up and scatter the plans of those who plot war and destruction. Frustrate their strategies, Lord, and let their weapons be rendered powerless. As it is written in Isaiah 54:17, *'No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of Yahweh’s servants, and their righteousness is of me,’* says Yahweh. We claim this promise over the nations and ask that You would bring confusion to the camps of those who seek to harm the innocent.
Father, we pray specifically against the threat of nuclear destruction—let these weapons of mass destruction be dismantled, neutralized, or turned aside by Your mighty hand. You alone can turn the hearts of kings and rulers like rivers of water (Proverbs 21:1). Softening the hearts of those in authority, Lord, and lead them to pursue peace rather than war. May Your Spirit move powerfully in the hearts of leaders, that they would turn from violence and seek justice and righteousness.
We also pray for the protection of the innocent—men, women, and children who are caught in the crossfire of these conflicts. Be their shield and strong tower, O Lord (Psalm 18:2). Comfort those who are displaced, grieving, or suffering, and provide for their needs. Raise up Your church in these regions to be a light in the darkness, offering hope and practical help to those who are hurting.
Finally, Lord, we ask that You would hasten the day when wars will cease, and nations will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks (Isaiah 2:4). Come quickly, Lord Jesus, and establish Your kingdom of peace on earth as it is in heaven.
We pray all of these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Prince of Peace. Amen."*
Brothers and sisters, let us not grow weary in praying for peace, for our battle is not against flesh and blood but against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). While we pray for God’s intervention in these wars, let us also examine our own hearts. Are we living as ambassadors of Christ’s peace in our daily lives? Are we sharing the gospel—the only true hope for a broken world—with those around us? Let us be faithful to proclaim Jesus, for He alone can transform hearts and bring lasting peace.
We also encourage you to continue standing in the gap for these nations and conflicts. Fast and pray as the Lord leads, for there is power in a righteous life lived in surrender to God (James 5:16). May we all be found faithful in these days, trusting in our God who holds the hearts of all men in His hands.
