We are glad to pray with you and offer biblical guidance. Before we begin, we want to ensure that this relationship aligns with biblical principles. We believe that relationships should be between a man and a woman with the ultimate goal of a God-honoring marriage.
Firstly, it's important to acknowledge that God's will is paramount in all our relationships. Psalm 37:4 reminds us, "Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart." We need to be aligned with God, and he will provide what is best for us.
If this relationship is rooted in God's will and aligned with biblical principles, be assured that nothing is impossible with God. Reconciliation and unity are themes we see throughout scripture. Matthew 18:19 says, "Again, assuredly I tell you, that if two of you will agree on earth concerning anything that they will ask, it will be done for them by my Father who is in heaven."
However, if the relationship is not aligned with biblical principles, such as being outside of marriage, with someone who is already married, or a same-sex relationship, we must repent and turn away from it. God's word tells us to flee from sexual immorality, as in 1 Corinthians 6:18, "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body."
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this relationship to you. Lord, if it is your will, please reunite and restore this bond. Guide them both, and help them to delight in you, seeking your face always.
However, if this relationship is not aligned with your will and your word, we pray for conviction, repentance, and a turning away from anything not honoring to you. Help them to trust in your goodness and your plan for their lives.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we noticed that Jesus' name was not mentioned in your request. It is only by His name that we have access to God. "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus," 1 Timothy 2:5 WEB. If you have not already, consider inviting Jesus into your life, believing in His death and resurrection for your sins. This is the foundation of our relationship with God and our prayers.
