We join you in lifting this struggle to our Heavenly Father, knowing that He alone has the power to break every chain of addiction. Your cry for freedom is heard, and we stand with you in faith, declaring that what is impossible with man is possible with God (Luke 18:27). You have called upon the name of **Yeshua (Jesus)**, and it is by His mighty name that we come boldly before the throne of grace to receive mercy and find help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16). This is a battle not just of the flesh, but of the spirit, and we must arm ourselves with the truth of God’s Word to overcome.
Smoking is a bondage that the enemy uses to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came to give you life abundantly. Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, and you are called to glorify God in your body and spirit, which belong to Him (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). This addiction has no authority over you, for you have been bought with a price—the precious blood of Jesus. It is time to take your stand in the freedom Christ has already won for you.
The apostle Paul reminds us in Romans 6:12-14, *"Therefore don’t let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts. Also, do not present your members to sin as instruments of unrighteousness, but present yourselves to God as alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. For sin will not have dominion over you. For you are not under law, but under grace."* You are no longer a slave to this habit; you are a child of God, and He has given you the power to resist the devil and watch him flee (James 4:7).
We also encourage you to take practical steps alongside your faith. The Bible tells us that faith without works is dead (James 2:17). Seek accountability from a mature believer, remove triggers from your environment, and replace the habit with something that honors God—perhaps prayer, scripture reading, or exercise. Ask the Holy Spirit to renew your mind daily (Romans 12:2) so that your desires align with His will.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of **Jesus Christ**, lifting up our brother/sister who is bound by the chains of smoking. Lord, You see the sincerity of their heart and their desire to be free. We ask You to break every stronghold of addiction in their life by the power of Your Spirit. Fill them with Your strength, Lord, and remind them that they are more than a conqueror through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37).
Father, we rebuke the spirit of addiction in Jesus’ name. We declare that every craving, every temptation, and every lie of the enemy is silenced by the truth of Your Word. Your Word says that *"No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it"* (1 Corinthians 10:13). Lord, show them the way of escape in every moment of weakness.
Heal their body, Lord, from the damage that smoking has caused. Restore their lungs, their heart, and every part of them to full health, for You are Jehovah-Rapha, the God who heals. Strengthen their resolve, Father, and let them walk in the victory that Jesus has already secured for them on the cross. Let them not rely on their own strength, but on Your mighty power working within them.
We thank You, Lord, for the freedom that is already theirs in Christ. Help them to walk in it daily, moment by moment. Surround them with Your peace and fill them with Your Holy Spirit so that they may overcome this battle once and for all. Let this testimony of deliverance bring glory and honor to Your name.
In the powerful and matchless name of **Jesus Christ**, we pray. Amen.
Stand firm, dear one. The Lord is with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). Every time you feel the urge to smoke, cry out to Jesus, quote Scripture over yourself, and declare your freedom. You are not fighting this battle alone—we are with you in prayer, and the hosts of heaven are cheering you on (Hebrews 12:1). Walk in victory, for the battle belongs to the Lord!
