We join with you in lifting up your marriage before the Lord, for we know that nothing is too difficult for Him. You have done well to surrender your marriage to the throne of grace, for it is there we find mercy and strength in our time of need. The Lord delights in restoring and redeeming marriages, and we trust Him to work mightily in your husband’s heart.
The Word of God tells us in Ezekiel 36:26, *"I will also give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh."* We claim this promise over your husband, asking the Lord to remove any hardness, bitterness, or resistance and replace it with a tender, receptive heart toward you and the Lord. Let us also remember Proverbs 21:1, *"The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the water courses. He turns it wherever he desires."* If the heart of a king is in the Lord’s hand, how much more will He move in the heart of your husband?
We also encourage you to continue walking in love, patience, and kindness, as Colossians 3:18-19 instructs, *"Wives, be in subjection to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and don’t be bitter against them."* Your submission is not one of weakness but of strength, trusting God to work through your obedience. At the same time, we pray that your husband will be convicted to love you as Christ loves the church—sacrificially and selflessly.
Let us also examine our own hearts, for sometimes the Lord uses our trials to refine us. Ask yourself: Are there areas where you need to seek forgiveness or extend grace? Are there ways you can serve your husband that honor the Lord? Remember, 1 Peter 3:1-2 says, *"In the same way, wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; so that, even if any don’t obey the Word, they may be won by the behavior of their wives without a word; seeing your pure behavior in fear."*
Lastly, we must never underestimate the power of persistent prayer. Jesus taught us in Luke 18:1, *"He also spoke a parable to them that they must always pray, and not give up."* Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep believing that the Lord is at work, even when you cannot see it.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this sister and her marriage. Lord, You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who acts. We ask You to soften her husband’s heart—remove any stony resistance and replace it with a heart of flesh, tender toward You and toward his wife. Break down every wall of pride, bitterness, or distraction that has hardened his heart. Fill him with Your Spirit, that he may lead his home in love, wisdom, and godliness.
Father, we also ask that You strengthen this wife with Your peace and patience. Give her wisdom to know how to love her husband well, and grant her the grace to trust You in this season. Let her be a vessel of Your kindness and respect, even as she waits on You to move. Restore what has been broken, Lord, and let this marriage be a testimony of Your redeeming power.
We rebuke any schemes of the enemy to destroy this union. No weapon formed against this marriage shall prosper, for You, Lord, have the final say. Bind every spirit of division, apathy, or rebellion, and let Your will be done in their lives.
We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer. We trust You to work all things together for good, according to Your purpose. May this marriage bring You glory and reflect the love of Christ for His church. In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
