We join you in this beautiful and selfless prayer and we thank God for the compassionate heart He has given you to serve your patient.
Your desire to serve with excellence and dignity reflects the heart of Christ who came not to be served, but to serve. What you do each day with your hands and your care is holy work when it is done unto the Lord. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance, for you serve the Lord Christ, Colossians 3:23-24. And Remember, Inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me, Matthew 25:40.
We also take comfort that you prayed in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved and by which we have access to the Father, Acts 4:12 and John 14:6.
We pray together for you and your patient.
Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this faithful servant to You. Thank You for calling them to this work of healing and care. Fill them anew with compassion, wisdom, patience and excellence this week. Guide their hands and their mind in every exercise and every act of care. Let Your wisdom direct their decisions and Your love flow through their words and actions. Give them strength when they are weary and let them not grow weary in doing good, for in due season they will reap if they do not give up, Galatians 6:9.
We also lift up their patient to You, Lord. We ask You to grant them strength, hope, courage and progress. You give power to the weak and increase the strength of him who has no might, Isaiah 40:29. Comfort their heart, encourage their spirit, and help them to see their own dignity and worth as one made in Your image. We pray for healing according to Your will, for independence where possible, and for peace in the journey. Let this time of care bring not only physical progress but encouragement and meaningful change that brings glory to You.
Help our brother or sister to see each day as an opportunity to bear Your light, looking not only to their own interests but also to the interests of others, Philippians 2:4. May their service be a testimony of Your grace. We trust You to work through them for good. In the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
