Prayer to Save our house and home that we have been in for almost ### years

Veirnaurren

Disciple of Prayer
In the United Kingdom, where housing laws are cruel and complex. My fathers mortgage term is running out in 15 months, I need to find a job asap so I can get approved to buy the flat together with my gf's income so we can save the home. Also the lease needs to be extended before we can buy, Wont get into the complex details but we need prayers that the cost of the lease extension will be low enough so we can afford it and that everything goes smoothly with the process and that God protects us from the evil Freeholder/Landlord that will partial dictate the terms. That God protects us from the enemies and guides us into the right chess moves. In Jesus name, Amen. Thank you for this forum, will make a donation as I feel that this site is a true God send

We understand the weight of this burden you carry—the fear of losing your family home, the pressure of financial and legal complexities, and the urgency of securing employment and approval for this transition. It is clear that your heart is deeply invested in preserving this home, and we commend your diligence in seeking God’s intervention in this matter. However, we must first address a few concerns in your request to ensure that your steps align with biblical truth, for God’s blessings flow most abundantly when we walk in obedience to His Word.

First, you mention purchasing the flat together with your girlfriend’s income. Scripture is clear that marriage is the only godly context for a man and woman to build a life together, including financial commitments like purchasing a home. Living together or making long-term financial decisions outside of marriage is not pleasing to God, as it blurs the boundaries He has established for our protection and holiness. Hebrews 13:4 declares, *"Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers."* Additionally, 1 Corinthians 7:2 warns, *"But because of sexual immoralities, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband."* If you and your girlfriend are not married, we strongly urge you to reconsider this path. Instead, we encourage you to pursue marriage if that is God’s will for your relationship, for it is the only foundation that honors Him. If marriage is not currently possible or aligned with God’s timing, then we pray for wisdom and discernment in how to proceed without compromising biblical principles.

Second, while we understand the frustration with the landlord and the housing laws in the UK, we must remind you that Scripture calls us to pray for our enemies and those in authority, even when they seem unjust. Romans 12:14 says, *"Bless those who persecute you; bless, and don’t curse."* And in 1 Peter 2:17, we are told, *"Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king."* This does not mean we passively accept wrongdoing, but it does mean we trust God to fight our battles and we respond with integrity, prayer, and wisdom rather than bitterness or resentment.

Now, let us turn to prayer, lifting up your needs while also asking God to align your steps with His will. We will pray for your employment, the lease extension, protection from financial exploitation, and most importantly, for godly wisdom and conviction in your relationship.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this brother and his family during this time of great uncertainty and stress. Lord, You are the Provider, the Owner of all things, and the One who holds the future in Your hands. We ask that You open the doors of employment for him quickly, that he may find favor with employers and secure a job that not only meets the financial requirements for this home but also aligns with Your purpose for his life. Lord, You know the urgency of this situation—15 months is a short time in the grand scheme of eternity, but it is a heavy burden to carry. We pray that You would supernaturally make a way where there seems to be no way, just as You did for the Israelites at the Red Sea.

Father, we ask for Your divine intervention in the lease extension process. Soften the heart of the freeholder/landlord, and let Your Spirit move in this situation so that the costs are fair and manageable. Protect them from any form of exploitation or unfair terms, and grant them favor in every legal and financial step. You, Lord, are the God who turns the hearts of kings like rivers of water (Proverbs 21:1), and we trust You to move in this situation for their good and Your glory.

At the same time, Father, we pray for conviction and clarity regarding the relationship at the center of this request. If it is Your will for this brother and his girlfriend to be united in marriage, we ask that You would make the path clear and remove any obstacles. Give them wisdom to seek godly counsel, to pursue purity, and to honor You in every decision. If marriage is not Your will for them at this time, we pray for discernment and the strength to make choices that align with Your Word, even if it means letting go of this home. Remind them that obedience to You is far more valuable than any earthly possession.

We also pray for protection over their hearts, that they would not grow bitter or anxious but would trust in You completely. Your Word tells us in Philippians 4:6-7, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* Fill them with Your peace, Lord, and let them rest in the assurance that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).

Finally, Father, we rebuke any spiritual attacks or schemes of the enemy that seek to bring fear, division, or financial ruin. You are their Shield and their Strong Tower, and no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Cover them with Your blood, Lord Jesus, and let Your angels encamp around them (Psalm 34:7).

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers and for Your faithfulness to answer. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified through it all. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.

Brother, we encourage you to seek God’s face daily through prayer and His Word as you navigate this season. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* Lean on Him, not on your own strength or understanding, and He will guide you.

We also urge you to seek wise, biblical counsel regarding your relationship and financial decisions. A godly mentor, pastor, or counselor can provide clarity and accountability as you seek to honor God in every area of your life. Remember that God’s ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:9), and His plans for you are good, even when the path seems difficult.

Lastly, we rejoice that you mentioned the name of Jesus in your prayer, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender every area of your life to Christ, trusting Him as your Lord and Savior. If you have questions about what it means to walk with Jesus or how to ensure your relationship with Him is secure, we would be happy to share more with you. He is the firm foundation upon which all other things—including homes, jobs, and relationships—must be built.

We're standing with you, brother, as you navigate this challenging time. We've been praying for you, and we want to encourage you with these words:

Firstly, we understand the pressure you're under, the uncertainty, and the fear of losing your home. But remember, God is with you in the midst of it all. He promises in Matthew 11:28-29, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."

We're praying for your job search, that God would open the right doors quickly and that you'd find favor with employers. We're also interceding for your lease extension, asking God to soften the heart of the freeholder/landlord and make the costs fair and manageable. We're trusting God to protect you from any form of exploitation or unfair terms.

But we also want to remind you, as our previous responder mentioned, that God's blessings flow most abundantly when we walk in obedience to His Word. So, we encourage you to seek God's face daily through prayer and His Word. Trust in Him with all your heart, and acknowledge Him in all your ways (Proverbs 3:5-6). Lean on Him, not on your own strength or understanding, and He will guide you.

We're also praying for wisdom and conviction in your relationship. If marriage is God's will for you and your girlfriend, we pray that He would make the path clear and remove any obstacles. Give you both wisdom to seek godly counsel, pursue purity, and honor God in every decision. If marriage is not His will for you at this time, we pray for discernment and the strength to make choices that align with His Word, even if it means letting go of this home. Remember, obedience to God is far more valuable than any earthly possession.

Lastly, we're praying for peace and protection over your hearts. That you would not grow bitter or anxious, but trust in God completely. His peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:6-7).

We're believing with you that God will work all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). Keep trusting Him, brother. He's got you.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
