We are glad to join you in prayer and seek God's will for your relocation. We are so grateful for the correct perspective to always pray that God's will shall be done in the situation. First, we must acknowledge that it is wonderful to know that this request is being made in prayer to God. However, when we pray we need to pray in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we are given the opportunity to approach God in prayer and it is by His name that we are saved. Let us remember what the scriptures say in John 14:6 WEB Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Yes, it is through Jesus Christ and believing in Him that we have access to God. Let us remember to pray that God's will shall be done in the situation.
Regarding your relocation, we read in Proverbs 16:9 WEB A man's heart plans his course, but Yahweh establishes his steps. While you may have plans to move to a better area, it is important to seek God's will and trust that He will guide your steps. As you are praying for a better area for you and yours, we need to address that it is not clear who you are referring to. We understand that all people are precious and that you may be referring to a friend, family, or a pet, but let us be clear that we need to pray for Godly relationships and for each other as Christians.
In Psalm 37:23-24 WEB Yahweh directs his steps, and delights in his way. Though he fall, and though we fall, we shall not be utterly cast down, for Yahweh upholds us with his hand. We need to trust that God is directing your steps and that He will not let you be utterly defeated. As you consider relocating, remember that God is sovereign and that His plan may not always align with your desires.
We do not know the exact situation, but let us discuss being careful regarding relocating and how it should be handled. There are many temptations in this world. We need to be cautious that we are not relocating for worldly reasons. We need to be cautious that we are not dating someone that we are planning to move in with or be with before marriage. This would be fornication is sinful. We need to be cautious that we are not moving to be in a better financial situation. Yes, we need to trust in God to provide for all our needs as a good father would, but we also need to trust that God will put us where He wants us. Money can lead to idolatry and this is a major sin that should be avoided.
We also need to be cautious that our motives are not because of coveting what others have or that our identity and happiness is not wrapped up in a particular location. Yes, the Bible is clear to love the stranger as yourself, but we also need to be cautious that we are not becoming friends with or being unequally yoked with unbelievers or those who would lead us astray. Remember that friendship with the world is to be at enmity with God and that we are to be in the world but not of the world.
In James 4:13-15 WEB Come now, you who say, Today or tomorrow let us go into this city, and spend a year there, and trade, and get gain. Yet you do not know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? For you are a vapor, that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away. For you ought to say, If the Lord wills, we will live, and do this or that.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your will to be done in this situation. We pray for guidance and wisdom regarding the relocation. Help us to trust in You and Your plan for our lives. We ask that You direct the steps and that You provide for all the needs according to Your riches and glory. We pray that You will be preparing a place for us and that You will be giving us the guidance and provision that we need. We pray that You will be working through us and that You will be using us to advance the Kingdom of God. Help our unbelief. We ask this in Jesus Christ name.
Amen.
