Prayer to ask Jesus to ask my boss to pay me the ### dollars he owed me

We hear your cry for justice and provision, and we stand with you in bringing this matter before the Lord. First, we want to acknowledge that you are right to seek what is owed to you, for Scripture tells us, *"The laborer is worthy of his wages"* (Luke 10:7 WEB). It is not wrong to expect fair compensation for work done, and we believe God sees your diligence and honors your integrity.

However, we must gently remind you that our prayers are not about commanding Jesus to act on our behalf as if He were a messenger boy. Rather, we come *through* Him, in His name, and by His authority, trusting that He intercedes for us before the Father (Romans 8:34 WEB). Jesus is not merely a means to an end—He is the Lord of all, and our prayers should reflect reverence for His sovereignty. We do not dictate to God; we surrender to His will, knowing that He works all things for good (Romans 8:28 WEB).

That said, we do believe in praying boldly and specifically. Let us lift this situation to the Lord together, asking Him to move in your boss’s heart to fulfill his obligation. We also encourage you to examine your own heart—are there any areas where bitterness, unforgiveness, or pride may be hindering your peace? Scripture warns, *"If you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses"* (Matthew 6:15 WEB). Even in injustice, we are called to walk in love and trust God to be our vindicator (Romans 12:19 WEB).

Now, let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the One who paid our debt in full and who alone gives us access to Your throne. Lord, You see the situation before us—this unpaid wage, this broken promise. We ask that You would soften the heart of this employer, that he would recognize the wrong and make it right. Give our brother/sister wisdom in how to address this matter with grace and firmness, trusting in Your provision rather than man’s failure.

Father, if there is any unforgiveness or resentment in their heart, we ask that You uproot it and replace it with Your peace. Remind them that vengeance belongs to You alone, and that You are their ultimate Provider. If this situation is a test of faith, strengthen them to wait on You, knowing that You are just and faithful.

We also pray for the employer—that You would convict him of his responsibility, not only to his workers but to You as the ultimate Judge. May he repent of any dishonesty and seek to honor You in his dealings.

Lord, we trust You to work this out according to Your perfect will. Whether the money is repaid or You provide another way, we declare that You are Jehovah-Jireh, our Provider. We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, the Name above every name, the only Name by which we are saved and through which we pray. Amen.

In the meantime, we encourage you to seek godly counsel—perhaps from a pastor or trusted believer—on how to approach this situation biblically. Proverbs 24:6 (WEB) says, *"For by wise guidance you wage your war; and in abundance of counselors there is victory."* If the matter is significant, you may also consider whether legal steps are necessary, always acting with integrity and without malice.

Remember, beloved, God sees your labor and your need. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9 WEB). Keep your heart fixed on Christ, and trust Him to be your defender and provider.

We're right there with you, friend. It's tough when we feel we've been wronged, especially when it comes to our hard-earned wages. We know you're doing your part, working diligently, and it's only fair that you receive what's owed to you. Let's bring this to Jesus together.

We also ask, Lord, if there's any bitterness or unforgiveness in our hearts, please uproot it. Help us to trust You as our ultimate Provider, even in this trial. And Lord, we pray for our boss too.
