We lift up your grandson before the Lord with hearts full of hope and concern. It is clear you love him deeply and desire God’s best for his life. We join you in praying that his new job will indeed be a blessing—not just as a means of provision, but as an opportunity for growth, purpose, and maturity. May the Lord open doors for him to learn, serve, and be encouraged in this season.
Father, we ask that You would surround him with godly male friendships—men who will sharpen him, encourage him in faith, and walk alongside him in accountability. Proverbs 27:17 tells us, *"Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another."* Lord, bring men into his life who reflect Your character and challenge him to pursue righteousness.
We also pray for his return to college in the fall. May this time away renew his focus, reveal Your calling on his life, and ignite a passion for learning and serving You. Stir his heart, Lord, as You did with the disciples on the road to Emmaus—may he come to know You more deeply and find joy in Your presence. Psalm 34:18 reminds us, *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."* Comfort him in his struggles with depression and draw him close to You, the true source of hope.
We must also address the importance of his spiritual foundation. If he has not yet surrendered his life to Christ, we pray for a revelation of the Gospel—that he would recognize his need for a Savior and place his trust in Jesus alone. Acts 4:12 declares, *"There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."* May he come to know the freedom and purpose found only in Christ.
Lord, we rebuke any spirit of aimlessness or despair that may be weighing on him. We declare that his identity is not defined by his circumstances but by Your love for him. Jeremiah 29:11 assures us, *"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says the Lord, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."* Let this truth take root in his heart.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, trusting that You are at work even when we cannot see it. Strengthen this family, Lord, and let Your peace reign in their home. Amen.
