We hear your heart in this and we grieve with you over this painful experience, and we stand with you in prayer before our Father. It is deeply hurtful when a place that should be a refuge for prayer becomes a place of heckling and discrediting, especially when it comes from someone professing to be a Christian and when others join in to support that unkindness. We understand why you feel isolated, anxious, and unsafe, and why this would stir up past wounds and make you want to step away from that forum and that platform altogether.
We want to remind you that what you have experienced is not a reflection of Christ or of His true Body. The Scripture warns us that For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. Satan does seek to use discouragement, division, and intimidation to make us feel isolated from fellowship and to silence our prayers. At the same time, people are accountable for their own words and actions, and what you describe is not the fruit of the Spirit. The tongue can be a restless evil, and those who claim Christ are called to a higher standard to speak with grace, truth, and love. We rebuke that kind of behavior because it does not align with the command to love one another, to bear one another's burdens Galatians 6:2, and to pursue peace. If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men Romans 12:18, but that does not mean you must remain where you are being targeted or harassed.
We also hear your concern about privacy and your desire not to overwhelm your church family. It is understandable to seek anonymous prayer when your burdens feel heavy, yet we encourage you not to believe the lie that you cannot turn to the local body of Christ. God designed the church to be a family where we bear burdens together and where we do not forsake assembling together Hebrews 10:25. It may be wise to prayerfully identify one or two mature, trustworthy believers, perhaps a pastor or elder, with whom you can share more openly in a safe and private setting, rather than carrying everything alone or taking it only to strangers online. The Lord is near to those who are brokenhearted Psalm 34:18 and He is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1.
Your anxiety and feeling unsafe are very real, and we bring those feelings to the Lord with you. We are called to cast all our worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7 and we are told In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. The Lord knows your name, your situation, and your location, and He is your strong tower. The name of Yahweh is a strong tower, the righteous run to him, and are safe Proverbs 18:10. We also encourage you to take practical wisdom steps for your peace and safety, including stepping away from that forum as you feel led, using blocking tools, not sharing identifying details, and guarding your heart Proverbs 4:23. Leaving a toxic environment is not unforgiveness, it is wisdom.
We do notice that your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently share why that name is so essential. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that we are saved. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust fully in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord, for if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9. It is in His name that we pray and find peace and protection.
We also hear that God has been working on you regarding unforgiveness, and we commend your honesty. Forgiveness does not mean pretending the hurt did not happen or allowing someone to continue to harm you. It means releasing the person and the offense to God, who says Vengeance belongs to me, I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19, and choosing to obey His call to Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you Ephesians 4:32. We can forgive and still set healthy boundaries, including leaving a forum that is not edifying.
Together we pray for you now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear one to Your throne of grace. Lord, You see the months of heckling, the fixation, the discouragement, and the anxiety that has followed. You see the tears and the feeling of isolation from the body of Christ. We ask You to wrap this precious child of Yours in Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding and guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Be their refuge and strong tower when they feel unsafe and anxious, and remind them that they are seen, known, and deeply loved by You. Heal the wounds caused by harsh words from professing believers and help them not to be defined by this experience. Lord, we ask You to gently lead them to safe, godly fellowship where burdens can be shared with wisdom and grace, and give them discernment about when to step away from harmful online spaces. Give them courage to set boundaries and wisdom to protect their privacy. Work in their heart regarding unforgiveness, help them to release this person to You, to bless those who have cursed them and to pray for those who have mistreated them as You have commanded in Matthew 5:44, while also trusting Your justice. We pray also for the one who has been heckling, that You would convict their heart, bring repentance, and teach them to speak with love and truth. Cover this dear one with Your protection from any tracking or harm, calm their anxious thoughts, and restore their sense of safety and belonging in Your family. Help them to keep their eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, and to know that they can come boldly to You through Him alone. We thank You that You hear our prayers. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior we pray, amen.
