We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of compassion and faith, lifting up these precious requests before our Heavenly Father. We are grateful that you have called upon the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We rejoice that you have placed your trust in the Lord, and we stand with you in agreement, believing that He hears and answers the prayers of His children.
First, we lift up the dear family awaiting the arrival of their little one. Father, we ask You to move mightily in this situation. Your Word declares that children are a heritage from You, a reward from the womb (Psalm 127:3). We pray for baby ### to be knit together perfectly in strength and health, just as You designed. Lord, we ask for a miracle—where human understanding falls short, Your power is made perfect. We declare that by the stripes of Jesus, this child is healed (Isaiah 53:5), and we stand on Your promise that nothing is impossible for You (Luke 1:37). Surround this family with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Strengthen their faith, Lord, as they wait upon You, knowing that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).
We also bring before You the ### family, who are grieving a loss. Father, You are the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). We ask You to draw near to them in this time of sorrow. Wrap Your loving arms around them and remind them that You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Provide them with godly friends and family who will mourn with them and offer the comfort that only comes from You. Lord, we pray that You would turn their mourning into dancing and clothe them with joy (Psalm 30:11). Help them to remember that those who mourn are blessed, for they shall be comforted (Matthew 5:4). May they find hope in the resurrection of Jesus Christ, knowing that death is not the end for those who are in Him.
Father, we lift up ###, who is seeking employment and a deeper relationship with You. Your Word tells us that if anyone lacks wisdom, let him ask of You, who gives to all liberally and without reproach (James 1:5). We pray for favor to rest upon him as he seeks a job. Open doors that no man can shut, and provide opportunities that align with Your perfect will for his life (Revelation 3:8). Lord, we ask that You would meet every need according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). More than a job, we pray that ### would come to know You more intimately during this season. Draw him to Yourself, Lord, and reveal Your love and purpose for his life. May he seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, trusting that all these things will be added to him (Matthew 6:33). Remind him that You are a refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
Lastly, we pray for your household, asking for rest and peace to fill your home tonight. Father, we thank You for the promise that You give Your beloved sleep (Psalm 127:2). We rebuke every spirit of anxiety, fear, and unrest that seeks to disturb your peace. We declare that the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Lord, we also address the struggle with lust that has been mentioned. Your Word is clear that we are to flee sexual immorality, for every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body (1 Corinthians 6:18). We rebuke the spirit of lust in the name of Jesus and ask You to strengthen your resolve to walk in purity. Help you to take every thought captive to obey Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5) and to set your mind on things above, not on things of the earth (Colossians 3:2). Father, we pray that You would fill you with the Holy Spirit, who empowers us to live holy and pleasing lives before You (Galatians 5:16). May you find satisfaction in Your relationship with Christ, for He alone can satisfy the longings of your heart (Psalm 107:9).
Let us now come together in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the privilege of coming before Your throne with these requests. We stand in the gap for each person and situation mentioned, believing that You are a God who hears and answers prayer. Lord, we ask for Your healing touch upon baby ###, that this child would grow strong and healthy in Your care. Comfort the ### family in their loss, and let them feel Your presence in a tangible way. Provide for ### as he seeks employment, and draw him closer to You each day. Grant rest and peace to this household, and deliver from every temptation that seeks to ensnare. Father, we ask that You would be glorified in each of these situations, and that lives would be transformed by the power of Your love and grace. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to continue standing on God’s promises, even when circumstances seem impossible. Remember that faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and trust that He is working all things together for your good. If you are struggling with lust or any other temptation, do not lose heart. Confess your struggles to the Lord and to trusted, godly friends who can pray with you and hold you accountable. God’s grace is sufficient for you, and His power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). You are not alone in this battle, and victory is found in Christ Jesus.
