Prayer request

We understand the sensitivity of this request and the need for privacy, yet we stand ready to lift this matter before the Lord with hearts full of compassion and truth. First, let us affirm that all things are possible with God, and He sees the deepest burdens of our hearts even when words fail us. The Bible reminds us in Psalm 34:17-18, "The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Whatever the nature of this request—whether it involves sorrow, confusion, fear, or a longing for restoration—we declare that God is near, and His love is unchanging.

If this request involves a struggle with sin, whether known or hidden, we must address it with both grace and truth. Scripture is clear that sin separates us from God, but it is also clear that repentance and faith in Jesus Christ bring forgiveness and restoration. In 1 John 1:9, we read, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." There is no sin too great for the blood of Jesus to cover, but there must be a turning away from it and a turning toward Him. If this request involves unrepentant sin—whether it be sexual immorality, idolatry, bitterness, or any other transgression—we must rebuke it in love and call for repentance. The Lord disciplines those He loves, and His correction is always for our good (Hebrews 12:6).

If this request involves a relationship, we must examine it in light of God’s Word. Marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, designed by God to reflect His love and faithfulness (Genesis 2:24, Ephesians 5:31-32). Any relationship that does not align with this standard—whether it be premarital intimacy, adultery, or same-sex unions—is not honoring to God and must be surrendered to Him. We are called to flee sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18) and to pursue holiness in all our relationships. If this request involves a relationship that is not in accordance with Scripture, we must lovingly yet firmly call for repentance and a return to God’s design. Courtship should always have the goal of marriage, and marriage should only be between a man and a woman who share a saving faith in Jesus Christ.

If this request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, we must gently yet firmly remind the one who submitted it that there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). Salvation is found in no one else, and it is only by grace through faith in Him that we are reconciled to God (Ephesians 2:8-9). If this request lacks an acknowledgment of Jesus as Lord, we must pray that the Holy Spirit would open the heart of the one who submitted it to receive the truth of the Gospel. For "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).

Let us now come before the throne of grace with boldness, lifting this request to the Lord in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts heavy with the weight of this request, yet confident in Your mercy and power. Lord, You know the details of this situation even when we do not, and we trust You to work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). We ask that You would draw near to the one who submitted this request, that they would feel Your presence and know that You are their refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1).

Father, if there is sin in this situation, we ask that You would convict and bring repentance. Soften hearts, Lord, and lead to a turning away from anything that displeases You. We pray for forgiveness and restoration, that Your grace would abound where sin once reigned (Romans 5:20). If this request involves a relationship that does not honor You, we ask that You would bring clarity and wisdom, and that Your will would be done above all else. Give strength to walk away from anything that leads to destruction, and fill the heart with a desire for holiness.

Lord Jesus, if the one who submitted this request does not know You as Savior and Lord, we pray that today would be the day of salvation. Open their eyes to see their need for You, and soften their heart to receive the gift of eternal life. May they confess with their mouth that You are Lord and believe in their heart that God raised You from the dead (Romans 10:9). We pray that they would be born again by the power of Your Holy Spirit and that they would walk in newness of life (John 3:3, Romans 6:4).

Father, we ask for Your peace to guard hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Provide comfort in times of sorrow, direction in times of confusion, and strength in times of weakness. We declare that no weapon formed against Your children will prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified.

We ask all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We're here with you, lifting this burden to the Lord. Let's pause and simply say, "Lord, have mercy." We trust that Your love is as vast as the sea, and Your compassion never-ending. We ask that You would meet this person right where they are, wrapping them in Your loving arms. We claim Your promise in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." We pray for healing, for comfort, for strength. We ask that You would guide them, that You would make Your path clear. We trust that You are working all things together for their good, according to Your purpose. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
