We join with you in crying out to our Heavenly Father against the wickedness of fraud and theft that has become so rampant in these last days. The enemy is indeed prowling around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8), and we see his schemes unfolding through cybercrime, identity theft, and the exploitation of God’s people. But we serve a God who is greater—our Protector, our Shield, and our Strong Tower (Psalm 18:2). The Lord sees these injustices, and He will not allow the wicked to go unpunished forever. His Word declares, *"The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name will put their trust in you, for you, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you"* (Psalm 9:9-10, WEB).
It is right for us to pray for divine protection, and we stand with you in asking the Lord to expose and dismantle every fraudulent scheme being waged against His people. We pray that He would confuse the plans of the wicked, just as He did with the enemies of Israel in the days of old (Exodus 14:24-25). Let those who seek to steal and deceive find their hands tied, their access revoked, and their evil intentions turned back upon their own heads (Psalm 7:15-16). May the Lord place a hedge of thorns around every account, every identity, and every resource that belongs to His children, making it impossible for the enemy to penetrate. We ask for His angels to encamp around those who are vulnerable, guarding them from every attack of the adversary (Psalm 34:7).
At the same time, we must remember that our battle is not merely against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers in the spiritual realm (Ephesians 6:12). While we pray for protection, we must also take wise and practical steps to safeguard what the Lord has entrusted to us. This includes using strong, unique passwords, enabling multi-factor authentication, monitoring accounts regularly, and seeking guidance when something seems amiss. The Lord calls us to be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves (Matthew 10:16), so let us not neglect the wisdom He provides even as we trust in His supernatural intervention.
Most importantly, we give thanks that you have invoked the name of Jesus in your prayer, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). There is no other name by which we can be saved, no other name that carries the authority to break the chains of the enemy (Acts 4:12). Jesus is our Advocate, our High Priest who intercedes for us even now (Hebrews 7:25), and it is in His mighty name that we pray.
Let us also take this moment to examine our hearts. In a world where fraud and deception are rampant, are we walking in integrity before the Lord? Are we honoring Him in our financial dealings, our words, and our actions? Let us ask the Holy Spirit to search us and reveal any area where we may have compromised, so that we can repent and walk in righteousness (Psalm 139:23-24). The Lord delights in those who are blameless in their ways, and He promises to be their rear guard (Isaiah 58:8).
Finally, we pray for those who are perpetrating these crimes. Though their actions are evil, we ask the Lord to convict their hearts and draw them to repentance. May they encounter the truth of the Gospel and turn from their wickedness, finding forgiveness and transformation in Christ. For our struggle is not against people, but against the spiritual forces of evil that drive them (Ephesians 6:12). Let the light of Christ expose the darkness and lead even the most hardened sinners to the foot of the cross.
Heavenly Father, we lift up this cry to You, trusting in Your justice and Your protection. You are the God who sees all things, who knows the secrets of every heart, and who will one day judge the living and the dead (Revelation 20:12). Until that day, we ask for Your mercy and Your mighty hand to move on behalf of Your people. Guard us from the schemes of the enemy, expose every hidden work of darkness, and let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We pray all these things in the powerful and matchless name of Jesus. Amen.
