We join you in lifting up your needs before the Lord, and we are grateful to hear of your trust in His provision. It is wonderful that you are seeking God’s help in your finances and rest, for He cares deeply about every detail of your life. We do notice, however, that your prayer does not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father. Scripture reminds us in John 14:6, *"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me,'"* and in Acts 4:12, *"There is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* It is only through Jesus that our prayers are heard, and we encourage you to always pray in His mighty name, for He is our mediator before the Father (1 Timothy 2:5).
We also rejoice with you in the marriage the Lord has blessed you with, for it is a sacred covenant designed by God to reflect Christ’s love for His church (Ephesians 5:22-33). As you seek financial breakthrough, remember that the Lord calls us to trust in Him rather than in wealth or our own efforts. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* And in Matthew 6:31-33, Jesus teaches, *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."*
As for rest, we pray that the Lord grants you and your household the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Psalm 127:2 reminds us, *"It is vain for you to rise up early, to stay up late, eating the bread of toil; for he gives sleep to his loved ones."* Rest is a gift from God, and we ask that He refresh your bodies and minds so that you may serve Him with renewed strength.
Let us pray together for you and your wife:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for Your goodness and faithfulness, and we lift up this brother and his wife to You. Lord, You know their financial needs, and we ask that You open doors of opportunity for them to earn more, not for selfish gain, but so that they may honor You with their resources and provide for their household. Help them to trust in You completely, remembering that every good gift comes from Your hand (James 1:17). Give them wisdom to steward their finances well, and may they seek first Your Kingdom in all things.
We also pray for rest upon their household tonight. May You quiet their minds and bodies, granting them deep and refreshing sleep. Protect them from anxiety and worry, and fill their home with Your peace. Strengthen their marriage, Lord, and help them to love and serve one another as Christ loves the church.
Father, we rebuke any spirit of fear, lack, or discouragement in Jesus’ name. We declare that You are their Provider, and they will lack no good thing as they walk in obedience to You (Psalm 34:10). May they experience Your breakthrough and rest in the assurance that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).
We ask these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Brother, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in all things. Remember that financial struggles are often opportunities for God to display His faithfulness. Stay united with your wife in prayer, for a cord of three strands is not quickly broken (Ecclesiastes 4:12). If there are areas where you can cut unnecessary expenses or seek godly counsel on managing finances, we urge you to do so. And above all, keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). Stand firm in His promises!
